Jasmine Fearn

Hi, I’m Jasmine Fearn, a passionate trainee secondary music teacher with a strong academic background, extensive performance experience, and a dedication to inspiring the next generation of musicians. Currently pursuing my PGCE with QTS at Sheffield Hallam University, I hold a Master’s degree in Music Management from the University of Sheffield and a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Lincoln.

Music has always been at the heart of my life. As a lead singer in a band, a pianist, guitarist, and a budding drummer, I bring real-world performance experience and creativity into everything I do. I also teach piano privately to young students, helping them build technical skills and a love for music through engaging and personalized lessons.

My teaching experience spans Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, where I’ve delivered dynamic, inclusive lessons and contributed to school music programs. From supporting productions like Legally Blonde and Aladdin to leading after-school music clubs, I am committed to making music education accessible and enjoyable for all. Outside the classroom, I am actively involved with the Barnsley Youth Senior Choir, assisting in conducting children’s choirs and fostering their musical confidence.

This summer, I will be teaching music, singing, and piano at Camp America’s Independent Lake Camp, where I’ll work with children from diverse backgrounds, further expanding my teaching skills.

With a deep passion for education and a belief in the transformative power of music, I strive to inspire students to explore their potential and discover their own creative voices. Whether in the classroom, on stage, or behind the scenes, I am driven to create meaningful and inclusive musical experiences.

I am a trainee secondary music teacher with experience teaching Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 during placements at Kirk Balk Academy and Penistone Grammar School. My work includes leading music lessons, supporting school productions (Aladdin, Legally Blonde, and Changing Rooms), and running extracurricular programs like after-school Theory Club and School of Rock band.

Outside of teaching, I have extensive performance experience as a lead singer in a band, pianist, guitarist, and aspiring drummer. I also teach piano privately to young students and assist with the Barnsley Youth Senior Choir, conducting and mentoring children’s choirs.

Additionally, I have worked as an Emerging Music Leader, delivering inclusive music workshops to schools and cultural organizations, and will teach music at Camp America’s Independent Lake Camp this summer. My passion lies in creating engaging, inclusive, and creative musical experiences for all learners.

I hold a Master’s degree in Music Management from the University of Sheffield, where I was awarded the prestigious Mary Lill Scholarship, and a First-Class Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Lincoln. Currently, I am pursuing a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) at Sheffield Hallam University, which equips me with the skills and expertise to inspire and educate the next generation of musicians.
