About Jason Storey:

In my role, I manage a wide range of tasks, such as sickness meetings and reviews, managing staff health and wellbeing. I also look after job descriptions, contracts with all round upkeep of staff records. I also produce excel spreadsheets and Microsoft forms to collate data for various teams to provide an insight on how to improve day to day running of our services.

Experience

In my role I work in the ESR team and Solutions Workforce team. I have undertaken a range of duties in my three years, such as conducting absence meetings where this has given me general knowledge on sickness policies as well as updating staff records on ESR regarding their absence. Whilst in the Solutions Workforce team, I helped within the team to advertise vacancies, communicate with managers and answer queries of existing candidates. In the ESR team, I have a big range of responsibilities. Some of my main responsibilities include corresponding with trust workforce when processing staff maternity/paternity leave, where we provide the information to workforce regarding their future period of absence during maternity/paternity. Furthermore, my role includes correspondence with line-managers and staff directly with queries such as pay errors, reference requests and staff changes. In pay errors and hour changes, my role requires an outstanding level of communication with payroll, to ensure staff pay is up to date and correct. During reference requests, I ensure a meticulous level of communication and understanding also with external companies whilst providing these references to ensure they are returned promptly and up to company standard. In the ESR Team, I have also gained a certificate in job matching and have training to attend job evaluation panels, as well as also being trained in Agenda For Change. Within the team, I have also provided assistance to my manager regarding how to reduce the workload of the department, such as providing ideas on automatic replies, and setting up process notes for all of the team to follow. When dealing with complex queries, I ensure I abide by the trust standards at all times and provide a pristine level of care for all colleague, wider staff and stakeholders.

Education

I have an a-level equivalent in English literature, along with Sociology and Media Studies. At my second job at Sunderland AFC, I also undertook a management qualification, and a level 2 in Equality and Diversity.
