Javid Jahir Hussain

I am self-motivated, reliable, and hardworking. I possess excellent social skills and can work efficiently with all kinds of people. I work well independently and/or within a team environment. Organising and utilising time management effectively and efficiently, completing all tasks, thoroughly and accurately. My punctuality and attendance are excellent. My eagerness and creative work ethic will allow me to accomplish a lot from taking this line of work. I hope to learn new skills and polish the ones I have already acquired. Interested in the Construction Industry, pursuing a career specifically in Quantity Surveying and or Commercial Management.

During my time at University, I was able to identify all routes of Quantity Surveying, allowing me to gain and understand the skills required in these roles. Alongside them, I was presented with various opportunities to visit many large-scale construction sites around London and I was able to get a closer look at the different methods of construction using my CSCS H&S License which proves I have sufficient knowledge of health and safety on-site. I also completed various projects during my time at the University of Westminster. One is partnering up with Great Portland Estates (GPE) to develop a Project Management Strategy regarding aspects such as Project Governance, Stakeholder Management, and Project Methodology; presenting this strategy to GPE’s Developing Director has allowed me to develop my communication and presentation skills. Working with 5 other teams, this project boosted my creativity and ability to come up with new ideas.  Other projects include working with the MACE Group for commercial, residential, and retail development to monitor and maintain several ongoing work packages for 7 months in a project. These projects collectively improved my team working and communication skills, they also tested and enriched my attention to detail. I hope to use the knowledge I have attained at University and apply it in a professional environment.
