About Jennifer Alma Cunningham:

I am writing to express my interest in the position of educator at your educational institution. As a highly motivated and experienced educator, I am confident that I can make a valuable contribution to your school's mission of providing students with a high-quality education. I seek to further the academic knowledge of my students while trying to impart life skills at the same time, I attempt to do this through my passion for education.

I have extensive experience working in diverse educational environments, from under-resourced schools to resourced schools, with students of varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. My commitment to education is reflected in my past experiences, where I have worked with various educational volunteer programs during my university years, teaching both large groups and one-on-one lessons. This has helped me develop skills that can target student’s individual needs on a group or individual level.

In addition, I have over 14 years of experience as a qualified teacher, having worked with different curriculum types in both government and private sector schools. I have experience with the International IGCSE curriculum and at the moment and GSCE AQA from year 7 to year 12. I have served as a senior marker for both the Independent Education Board and as a National Senior Curriculum marker for English Paper 1 in South Africa. Since I have arrived in England I have expanded my content knowledge and have worked extensively on my teaching skills.

My diverse experiences have allowed me to develop a range of skills and allow adapt easily to different barriers that I may encounter in the course of my teaching. I strive to create multi-sensory and diverse lesson plans that reach different learning styles and enrich the curriculum with a wide range of experiences. My approach ensures clear learning objectives for my lessons and assessments. I also seek to create authentic education for students, to ensure that all students develop a passion for learning and achieve a high level of success academically and personally.  I try to encourage students to become resilient and lifelong learners and provide a safe and welcoming place in which to grow into become responsible community members.

As an advocate of lifelong learning, I am constantly seeking new techniques to incorporate into my teaching style. I seek to part of a staff that will part help me be a lifelong learner and help me develop as an educator. I have encountered many strong teaching communities in my time and seek any opportunity for personal grow as an educator. I believe in the importance of a diverse and multicultural classroom, where multiple educational views and teaching methods can address unique styles of learning. My commitment to any task I take on, combined with my ability to adapt quickly to any situation, allows me to complete tasks to the best of my ability.

I am confident that my expertise in my subject areas, communication and leadership skills, and passion for education would make me an asset to your school.
