I have built and managed teams of product managers both local and remote for over 10 years.
The solutions I have created and managed include B2B and B2C SAAS (AWS) products and services developed using agile development methodologies (Scaled Agile/Scrum). As well as solutions that included 3rd party components.
I have twice created solutions that have won awards from industry analysts including Gartner magic quadrant top right positioning meaning it was considered the best solution in the market. After three years in my current position I have repeated this with a gold award for Cyber Security Global Excellence from Kuppinger Cole.
In my last two roles the services I have created have grown hugely at Thales the service had an ARR of less than $10k when I started and over $40m when I left. At HID Global the service has grown from less than 100k users to over 10m.
The solutions I have built and launched include server software and mobile apps used by 10’s of millions of people.

HID Global 2019 – Present
Senior Director Product Management
Built and managed an excellent team of six Product Managers focussed on Identity and Access Management solutions for both enterprise and consumer use cases (B2B and B2C).
- Full product responsibility including ownership of the short and long term roadmaps
- Solutions include both cloud (AWS) and on premise
- Created and established the service surround for the cloud based services (SAAS) which now has over 10 million users (3 years ago this it was less than 100k)
- Product Manager for an agile release train (ART) with 60 developers
- Kuppinger Cole awarded the SaaS service a gold award for global excellence this year
- HID’s authentication solutions include both mobile apps (used by millions of users) and server software
Thales (Gemalto, Safenet, Cryptocard) 2011 – 2019
Head of Product Management
Thales has a full range of Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions available either as AWS Cloud based (SAAS) solutions or on premise.
- Created a service that Gartner ranked as the top right solution in their magic quadrant. In Gartner’s view the solution was the best available in the market
- Developed features and capabilities to enable the solution to grow from an ARR of under $10k to over $40m
- Created and implemented channel programmes that enabled a $60m SFDC pipeline
- As an evangelist for IAM promoted Cloud authentication to Service Providers and traditional two tier channel through multiple methods
- Worked with functional areas to ensure service surround processes were implemented from quoting to order fulfilment to support
- When I joined Cryptocard it was an organisation with 65 employees. 7 years later and after three acquisitions I was with Thales and 80,000 employees
Vodafone Group 2009 – 2011
Product Management (Contract role)
As part of the team responsible for mobile device management and internet products defined the requirement, justified the development and managed the creation of a range of SIM based Authentication solutions that were launched by Vodafone’s country operations. The Authentication solutions are available as SAAS/Cloud based services and include;
- Emulation of an RSA hard token as a SIM based application available on a monthly price with a token that does not need renewal or ‘re-sync’
- SMS distribution of one time passwords
Also worked with R&D on the NFC market opportunity for Vodafone, the solutions include a credit/debit card on a SIM. Developed the business model and formulated the external message and presented the concept to a number of multinational banks.
SITA 2001 – 2008
Head of Internet and Security Solutions
As part of a team formulated a new strategy for SITA’s Internet Solutions. Identified the market requirements and created a business case. Justified the strategy to senior management and once the business case was adopted, defined and created a new range of Internet and Managed Security solutions.
- Created and managed the pricing model for every service
- Managed a team of product managers (local and remote) and launched the services to the global sales and pre-sales teams
- Introduced the portfolio and solutions at customer and industry events
- Drove the first sales of each of the solutions
