• Load skips with the use of the clam shell grab which would then be collected.

• Help with site maintenance and move skips or weigh bales with either a forklift or a clamp truck.

• Driving a loading shovel on a new build distribution centre, stockpiling hardcore material from a crusher. There wasn’t enough room on site therefore I built a ramp until I could start loading material on to a 25 tonne dumper.
• Stockpiling and pushing up large blocks of concrete that had been excavated on site ready for them to be crushed.

• Duties including, deep excavations, digging trenches, backfilling, slinging and moving machinery, loading dumpers, breaking up large rocks with a hydraulic breaker and riddling through material with a riddling attachment.

• Operating a loading shovel pushing up loads of ash tipped from an incinerator while also loading out any ash tipped on to a 30 tonne dumper which could then tip on to the landfill.
• Load ash on to a screener which could then refine the material and segregate metal etc with a mag belt.
• Responsible for deliveries of building waste which I would then push up, an excavator would then load in to another screener which I would then stockpile the material into stockpile building ramps.

Position: Plant Operator/ Weighbridge Administrator

Job role/responsibilities :

• Operation of the depot’s busy weighbridge accepting up to 4000 tonnes of various grades of ferrous scrap metal each day, whilst ensuring compliance standards such as relevant documentation and I.D are met.
• Issuing relevant safety information and induction to all delivering drivers to ensure a safe and timely turn around.
• Control of daily stocks using Microsoft Excel.
• Issuing current scrap prices to trader via telephone.
• De-registering of cars through the DVLA, and planning moving of scrap by rail.
• Operation of a range of plant machinery such as loading shovels up to 120 tonnes used to push up and carry scrap. Tracked 360 excavators up to 250 tonnes used to stockpile materials and load deep sea vessels with scrap for export. Wheeled 360 excavators for tasks such as loading and discharging road and rail wagons and use of FLT’s and Skidsteers for general duties.
• Basic levels of plant maintenance such as daily safety checks, greasing, cleaning using a pressure washer and replacement of hydraulic hoses and rams.
• Grading of scrap deliveries and issuing relevant deductions. Sorting through scrap deliveries and separating grades to maximum profit. Loading of basic maintenance of fixed plant such as shredders and screeners.

CPCS Blue Licence for Wheeled loading shovel A21 and 360 Excavator above and below 10 tonnes tracked.

Lifting Ops and Safe to Work medical.
