About Jon Dixon:

Electronics Manufacturing Professional, Lean, 5S/6Sigma, Kaizen, Manager, Director, Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Project Management, Product Design

I have served within the Electronics Industry for a very long time, my network is large and I have a history of producing results.  I know all the best practices for all manufacturing requirements and improvements within the field of electronics manufacture and I drive accountability, change management, wellbeing, culture change, inclusion and diversity.

Experience

Throughout my entire professional journey, I have actively participated in the production of diverse electronic assemblies, acquiring a wide range of skills in the process. The extent of my professional network can be observed through my LinkedIn profile. During my tenure at Mantracourt Electronics, I had the privilege of working under the guidance of Andrew Royal, who held the position of Director of Aerosense at that time. It was during this period that I had the opportunity to harness my potential and enhance my professional capabilities through the development and implementation of managerial and other professional proficiencies.

In reciprocation, I made significant contributions to Mantracourt Electronics in terms of advancements in ESD control, manufacturing, quality assurance, processes, and procedures. When I joined the company, its turnover stood at £1.1M. However, through the implementation of Lean and 5S methodologies, I optimized and enhanced its performance. By the time I decided to pursue new opportunities, the company's gross turnover had risen to £2.4M. The owner expressed heartfelt gratitude, offering a handshake and a written reference, acknowledging that my assistance had facilitated his retirement planning in the coming years.

Motivated by this success, I felt compelled to put my recognized skill set to the test. Through an online agency, I was recruited by ZTC Controls in Somerset, where I dedicated over a decade to the company's transformation into a new entity. This endeavor presented numerous challenges that allowed me to apply my skills and knowledge.

Throughout this period, I took it upon myself to expand my knowledge and skills through self-directed learning, making use of various professional resources such as books. As the company evolved, so did my abilities. Leveraging my expertise and experience, I established a comprehensive company structure that underwent continuous refinement and improvement, ensuring the provision of high-quality products and a welcoming inclusive environment for both customers and employees.

I consistently pursued professional knowledge and obtained necessary accreditations, adhered to stringent quality standards, and acquired additional skill sets, all of which have shaped me into the professional I am today. Thanks to the quality procedures and standards that I devised and implemented, the company successfully passed the AS9100D audit on our initial attempt, encountering only minor issues.

Furthermore, I assumed the role of an IPC trainer, ensuring recertification every two years for the company. I also led project management for full product designs, reverse engineering, and DFM for esteemed clients such as MK Test. Additionally, I oversaw budgetary changes and the integration of new equipment in the manufacturing lines, utilizing AutoCAD to generate architectural workshop drawings. I consistently fulfilled all core responsibilities entrusted to me by the company directors. Over the span of ten years, I dedicated each hour of my 72-hour work weeks to self-improvement and the advancement of my career in tandem with the growth of the company.

As the Manager, I personally conducted interviews, administered practical tests, hired employees, facilitated onboarding, conducted performance reviews, provided training, optimized operations, managed schedules, and served as the go-to point of contact for a team of over 35 staff members.

The organization that was previously known as ZTC Controls when I commenced my tenure had a turnover ranging from £10k to £12k. It has now undergone a transformation and is currently recognized as trizo limited. This transformation was made possible by my expertise and my ability to establish strong connections with customers, ultimately securing significant manufacturing contracts. By the time I departed from the company, its turnover had soared to nearly £2M, and it had achieved self-sustainability in terms of future development.

I felt that I had fulfilled my objectives at this company. Although I do not mind traveling, the daily commute of 112 miles from Exmouth to Somerset, which took approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes each way, became burdensome due to the expenses associated with transportation and vehicle maintenance. As a result of these financial burdens, I left the company with a personal debt totaling £12K.

Throughout my tenure, the company directors and shareholders recognized my contributions, classifying me as a senior management-level employee. I was consistently regarded as the go-to person, with my responsibilities encompassing a wide range of dynamic tasks that required precise time management. These responsibilities included overseeing facilities management, project management for both machinery acquisitions and product design, budget allocation and management aligned with projects and facilities, conducting interviews, recruiting staff, training departments, establishing procedures, regularly engaging and collaborating with stakeholders and directors, and successfully fulfilling numerous other company-specific roles mentioned in my CV, which I found to be effortless.

For the past 3 ½ years, I took some time off to relax as my children had not had much opportunity to spend time with me during their upbringing. During this period, I assumed the role of a Manufacturing Engineer for Stanley Security Systems, which is now recognized as Securitas Security. Within this organization, my diverse skill set caught their attention, and I was once again entrusted with a leadership position by the company director. I embraced this role and spearheaded various initiatives within the company, including promoting mental wellness and implementing a culture change focused on diversity and inclusion, among other responsibilities that exceeded my initial job description.

Driven by the desire to apply my expertise once more, I recently concluded the development of a new company called Jade Electronics Solutions. This endeavor enabled me to utilize my entire skill set and gain invaluable experience in managing an entire company. It served as the culmination of my professional journey, incorporating financial, purchasing, marketing, and sales management.

As a dedicated business professional, I invest my utmost effort and commitment into every organization I serve. I firmly believe in treating all individuals with respect and advocating for diversity, well-being, equality, and inclusion whenever possible. I adhere to core principles of honesty, integrity, trust, and embracing and learning from mistakes, while also engaging in personal reflection. I am a firm believer in the potential for comprehensive cultural change on a global scale, and I strive to understand, develop, and implement practices that align with these beliefs in my work.

As previously stated, I have held management positions that have required a diverse range of skills. Many of these roles have also entailed overseeing the management of various areas, such as the premises' estate where I have been employed. Throughout these experiences, I have been accountable for scheduling, organizing, managing, and ensuring adherence to working practices of external contractors both prior to and during site visits.

With a profound comprehension of lean principles, 5S, and continuous improvement, which I have cultivated since the age of 19, I am confident in my capacity to apply my versatile management skills to the benefit of the company I am employed by.

In my role, I have effectively overseen communication and meetings with B2B customers, departments/stakeholders, directors/shareholders, and the general public. Additionally, I have evaluated working practices, implemented equipment and facility changes, and devised floor plans to enhance overall business operations. I have also supervised the acquisition and project management of building equipment layouts, as well as the replacement of apparatus, all with the aim of improving the comfort and efficiency of the workforce and enhancing the functionality of the company.

Furthermore, I am responsible for managing systems and practices related to CoSHH, Fire Safety, IOS, and HSEQ. These areas are crucial in ensuring staff safety and compliance with standard requirements for a secure and high-quality working environment.

Thank you for your consideration of my application.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Dixon
