For the past couple of years, I have been studying Computer Science for health. I found the course very interesting and it has helped me gain the academic qualification needed to progress in my career. Before this course, I worked in a wide range of medical settings such as healthcare assistant, administration, medical secretary, project coordinator and data lead, a role that I have found very interesting and rewarding. I was helping people all the time, which helped me gain satisfaction as during these roles I really made a difference in people's lives.

I also worked as a clinic administrator assistant for two years full-time in the USA until December 2011. I am currently working again as a Data Quality Lead for the NHS. My job role was to produce reports, gather data, referrals, input data, data analysts, deal with emails and phone call inquiries also, attending meetings. I have gained knowledge on using the software called EPIC, PAS, RIO, Euroking, TheatreMan and other NHS software packages. I also have an advance knowledge on using all Microsoft Office such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint also with my computer science degree I have learned all coding languages such as SQL and Java. 

Collaborating with other healthcare professionals was part of my job this is for me the effective way to get all project done and gain new skills. I gained new skills such as 18 weeks’ patient pathway, maternity data, project management, audits, completing medical forms, and communicating effectively with patients and their families. I worked within a team and delivered a high standard of service. With regard to learning, after 3 years at university studying full-time, I have now completed my Computer Science for Health Degree. I believe that with my acquired skills and previous experiences I am now ready to embark on a new journey in my career.

I know that I have the skills and the understanding from work experiences. I am a compassionate, caring, ambitious, motivated person and always willing to learn new things. I am able to communicate well at all levels and I enjoy working as a part of a team.

I believe that having a background in working as Data Lead, Project Coordinator, Administrator, Medical Secretary, and my Computer Science for Health degree combined makes me a unique candidate for any administrative and computing role for the NHS because I understand all the needs such as the importance of maintaining privacy and confidentiality and other NHS values for the patients. Hence, during my degree I had many modules which I was working on at the same time whilst working this meant that I had to be organised and capable of multi-tasking.

In my free time, I enjoy reading and going to the gym. Being mentally and physically active is very important for me because I can control my weight, strengthen my muscles and improve my mental health. I am looking forward to starting this next chapter of my career.
