About jules lock:
I am polite and friendly individual with good communication and team working skills. Hardworking, trustworthy and reliable with a good timekeeping and attendance record. Experienced in a variety of job roles and happy to undertake any required training to establish a new rewarding career, where existing skills can be utilised and developed.
Experience
I’ve work at Saffron Young People’s Project as senior project leader for 15 years. The project is a voluntary, not for profit organisation that’s primary focus on detached youth work, we work in an area that lies in the top 3%
of most deprived areas in England.
I also have experience in applying funding to set up a various projects over the years project. One was called the saffron unity project. The Saffron Unity Project (SUP) has stemmed directly from the young people we work with.
I was tasked to select a team of young people as part of a rolling board committee, as the young people are in the best position to decide what they want and need, the committee have proposed to spend the grant on finding a suitable premises, running it, setting up and delivering services/activities to other young people (which will include developing their skills so that they are in the position to deliver their knowledge and develop other young peoples), creating and developing their own website, and working with other organisations such as the Police, to promote multi-partnership work.
On a weekly basis I would organise the staff team to work with approximately 150 youth living within the Saffron Estate:
- To provide the youths with activities to participant in, in order to keep them safe and off the streets due to vulnerability.
- To provide activity sessions 4 days a week, from Mondays through to Thursdays. This session included, football, girls football, tennis club, healthy and fitness and
- Also provide detached street sessions 4 nights a week.
In total we have approximately 250 youths registered with us for our activities and we have regular contact with a further 50 or more youths) who we communicate with during our street sessions or one-to-one sessions held in the Saffron Resource Centre.
I organised and set up youth summer camps, community fundays, every half term during the year, which I applied for funding to support the sessions, i also took on the role as acting project manager for 3 months
