About Kahturah Hodsman:

To Whom It May Concern:

I am submitting an application for the role of School Counsellor at Neom Community School and looking to relocate to Neom in the foreseeable future in order to join my spouse. Having had several opportunities to visit Neom, I am aware of many of the opportunities and challenges encountered as children and families settle into their Neom experience. I believe the combination of my unique skill sets, experience and qualifications would be invaluable to this specific role. I am well acquainted with the benefits and  complexities of working in an international school and understand the pressures and high demands involved in acquiring IB accreditation.

I have dedicated nearly two decades of my career to supporting  children’s mental health and well-being previously as a teacher and currently as a  psychotherapist.  I am a qualified member of the British Association for Play Therapy and  hold an MA in this therapeutic modality of psychotherapy, highly conducive to supporting children and adolescents understand and express their thoughts and feelings -particularly useful for EAL pupils. In addition to my background in psychotherapy, I have many years of experience as an early years educator and form teacher both in my native country of Canada and internationally. As well as classroom experience, I fulfilled other roles including mentoring, teacher-training and school leadership positions. As a qualified registered psychotherapist, I own and operate a private practice in the UK  where I work closely with children and parents in a therapeutic capacity both in my private office and in schools. I hold sessions either one on one or with small groups of children. When requested and as needed I am available to offer support and workshops for both parents and staff.

I welcome the opportunity to provide a supportive and empathic role to pupils, parents and staff in a culturally dynamic and forward thinking school community.  I continue to carry a vocational passion for working with children, parents and collaborating with school staff. My employment experience and professional development responds to the highlights listed in the job description for the position of School Counsellor at the Neom Community School. I welcome the opportunity to  further discuss my professional experience and qualifications for this role and look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Sincerely,

Kahturah Hodsman
