Karisma Nanavati

A highly motivated Product Designer with experience in Fashion Footwear & Accessory Design, Embroidery Design and Fashion Forecasting. I have worked with India's leading fashion retailer under, Tata Industries, to build their men, women and kid's footwear brands. I have recently finished my MA in Design Innovation from De Montfort University, Leicester and am grateful to be recognised as a J N Tata Scholar. I am looking for exciting opportunities to work as a Footwear Designer, Fashion Buyer, and Creative Brand Strategist. 

My past experience as a Designer for Westside (Trent Ltd) in India; has equipped me to work on everything from a concept of the shoe to the end marketing for the shoe. I am well-versed in identifying new developments in the industry and regularly research on footwear innovation. I have a strong background in sketching, prototyping, and creating technical specifications for footwear. My skills in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and range building have been honed through my experience in both in-house and freelance design roles. My design aesthetic is heavily influenced by upcoming fashion trends, as well as a deep understanding of materials and construction methods. 

I have recently completed my MA in Design Innovation from De Montfort University, Leicester. I have particular interest in Product Development (Footwear and Accessories). My bachelor’s degree in Fashion and Lifestyle Accessories led me to work with many fantastic companies in creating innovative design ranges and a few freelancing projects. I completed an exchange program from ENSAIT, France where I gained experience in Sustainable production and worked with people from different nationalities and cultures.
