Kathryn Groves

Growing up with the South Downs on my doorstep and later moving to the heart of Brighton, I’ve been surrounded by creativity and diversity from an early age. This environment nurtured my artistic ambitions and laid the foundation for my journey into filmmaking.

At university, my work began to intersect more deliberately with the history and craft of animation. I immersed myself in the study of classic cartoons like Looney Tunes and Disney’s Silly Symphonies, drawing inspiration from their expressive characters, comedic timing, and foundational animation principles. These timeless influences helped shape my creative identity.

Today, my work blends bold, vibrant colours with stylistic elements rooted in classic animation, resulting in a contemporary visual language infused with a sense of nostalgia. I aim to create visually dynamic, emotionally resonant stories that reflect my evolving understanding of both sound and image—stories that entertain, connect, and endure.

• Newsletter - Spearheaded the redevelopment of the internal newsletter, collaborating across departments to feature engaging updates and news that fostered a stronger office community.
• Customer Service - Worked directly with a diverse range of clients, from high-net-worth business owners to students seeking rental properties, ensuring tailored communication that met their unique needs.
