Katie Stones

My initial working life and formal education has been in the Theatre and Arts world where I have enjoyed a variety of roles in live theatre, both acting and singing, and recorded voice over industry. I like to continue this passion in my spare time primarily from my home recording studio space. 

My other passion for the past 12 years I have been working in the fitness industry as a Pilates teacher. I started my training with The Pilates Institute, London, in Sept 2010 and I have been teaching continuously since I qualified in June 2011. I began by teaching in a gym environment and quickly progressed to running my own classes in local community venues. I have been running my own Pilates business from my own studio space, for the past 3 years. Other than teaching my job requires me to take on many other roles; receptionist, marketing, sales, administration, IT, website building/management and utilising online booking systems. To teach to the best of my ability I have continued further education and qualifications in my field, lesson/term planning and instructing to ensure I can assist my clients to learn in the best way that suits their needs.  

In my capacity as teacher and business owner I work with the public daily; in person and online via email, messenger, Zoom and other social media. I also liaise and consult with professionals such as GP’s, Physiotherapists, Surgeons and Midwifes when necessary for my clients. In doing so, I feel that I have developed transferable skills, including, but not limited to, excellent customer service, polite and clear verbal and written communication, admin organisation, personal time management and lots of enthusiasm and patience. 

I am now looking for a new challenge and to further develop some of the transferable skills I have learned over the years in a different working environment. I enjoy meeting new people enormously; I enjoy helping and making their day better in any way possible.
