Kelly Schofield

I am a confident, friendly individual with excellent knowledge of customer service and 13 years experience. Within this time, I have gained a high amount of experience and qualifications working with a wide range of people on a daily basis, including carers, peers and outside professionals. I work well within a team and I am confident to take on any tasks needed to be carried out. I have experience leading a team and making sure all duties are completed and ensuring there’s a smooth routine being followed each day. I am a highly motivated and driven individual with a willingness to progress and develop within my career. I display a positive, friendly personality and I am able to communicate confidently with children in my care, my peers and parents/carers. I have proven through my roles and experience that I can be relied on to make the right decisions. 

The experiences and knowledge I have gained have provided me with the skills and the ability to work under my own initiative or in a team under pressure working to meet targets and deadlines. I have worked under my own initiative in my current role to targets creating 12 week termly reports and using compassion and consistency when I worked with EYFS framework to produce and develop activities in the 7 areas of learning within this age range and creating activities to keep the children engaged. I have excellent written, interpersonal and communication skills which I have demonstrated through communicating with my colleagues and external organisations as well as providing written reports to local authorities, and practitioners. I am passionate, reliable, and dedicated when it comes to working with young children and children with needs. I have an enthusiastic and caring personality which I would love to share with the school and the pupils I will be working with. I have always had a commitment to helping people as much as possible in all the jobs I have done in my career and always got great satisfaction as reward from this. I am self-motivated, efficient and a hard working team player who likes to share good practice and new ideas as well as learn from others which is important for my own development. I can easily transfer these skills to this role, where I will be able to, along with my colleagues positively engage and help the pupils in their everyday learning and development. Effective organisational skills to manage conflicting deadlines and work under pressure. The experiences and knowledge I have gained has provided me with effective organisational skills organising events and activity sessions within the Nursery and monitoring the area and room. I can easily transfer these skills to the role, where I will be able to positively engage all pupils I work with whilst developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all. I have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and completed regular training and courses in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. In all my job roles I have always made sure I have treated the children and adults I have worked with respect, dignity and equality and that I follow all safeguarding policies and procedures. This has included creating a safe environment and promoting clear systems to deal with any concerns. I always ensure the children and people I work with are within safe environments that help children and young people protect themselves I have the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with children, their parents/carers and colleagues and this is something I do regularly to discuss their progress and development. I always promote a positive ethos, and actively encourage and motivate young children to advance their development and learning, and I do this when using creative skills and resourcefulness to develop and adapt learning activities to meet different needs of the children. I can adapt and differentiate sessions for children depending on their needs, age and ability so they are engaged, improve their skills and develop their learning. I always have a commitment to improving my own knowledge and practice and something I do regularly when I can as I am a firm believer in always improving my knowledge and learning new things to help your current roles and always seek opportunities for continued personal development.
