Leading and supporting a team of specialist English and Maths staff in the Enterprise, Events and Employability Department at Leeds City College. 

Duties include:

- Manage strategies, planning and the delivery of teaching and learning to ensure learners are supported; academically and pastorally, to achieve their qualifications on their learning journey

- Continuously implementing strategies and adapting Schemes of Learning and lessons to ensure the high retention, achievement, success and attendance rates in Maths and English

- Working closely with the SEND team to ensure academic and pastoral support is given to EHCP and SEND learners

- Managing and leading on the planning, preparation and development of English schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources for the English team

- Giving high quality, effective, personalised feedback to students to develop their English skills

- Monitor and analyse student progress through formative and summative assessments to identify areas of development and implement targeted intervention to check learner progress

- Meticulous planning and organising GCSE Mock and Real exams over two campuses for over 300 students, many with EHCP and SEND needs. Ensuring all student needs are met

- Delivering engaging, supportive and purposeful GCSE English lessons to 16-19 students working towards GCSE English exams

- Actively contributing to the Department and wider College through sharing good practice, giving positive feedback and guidance through Short Lesson Visits, Learning Walks and Open Teaching weeks
