Experience

My professional journey in costume design has been enriched by hands-on experiences and a dedication to bringing characters to life on screen. I've had the privilege of designing costumes for two films, one of which is currently streaming on Amazon, showcasing my ability to translate creative visions into tangible, captivating wardrobes that resonate with audiences.

Beyond film, I've meticulously crafted over 50 costume pieces for various shows throughout my 9 years working in costume shops, honing my skills in fabric selection, pattern-making, and execution. These experiences have not only expanded my repertoire but also deepened my understanding of diverse costume styles and eras.

Managing the costume shop for Dorset Theatre Festival in Dorset, Vermont has been a pivotal part of my journey, allowing me to oversee the entire process from design conceptualization to production. This role has sharpened my organizational skills, ensuring seamless coordination and execution of costume designs within tight deadlines and varying budgets.

Moreover, I've ventured into styling clothing for TV advertisements, working for DustoftheGround, where my ability to curate and tailor wardrobes contributed to the visual storytelling and branding of these campaigns.

As I continue to navigate the UK industry, I'm driven by the desire to further immerse myself with hands-on experiences, expand my network, and accumulate more credits on platforms like IMDb. Ultimately, my aim is to ascend to a leadership position within the costume design realm, leveraging my diverse skill set and experiences to mentor and inspire future talents in this dynamic field.

Education

I hold a Master's degree in Costume Design and Technology, which served as a transformative journey, honing my craft and expertise in the intricate art of costume design. This educational pursuit provided me with a comprehensive understanding of every facet of costume creation, from the initial conceptualization and design process to the practical execution of intricate costumes. Throughout this program, I delved deep into historical and modern research, fabric selection, pattern-making, draping, fitting, millinery, sketching, design concepts, and all the collaborative aspects crucial to integrating costumes seamlessly into the storytelling of various productions. This education not only equipped me with technical skills but also fostered a creative and analytical approach essential for success in the dynamic and competitive landscape of the entertainment and fashion industries.
