About Lauren Smyth:

I am a highly motivated and versatile individual with extremely strong team working skills and leadership experience. I have fantastic communication and customer service skills and thrive in fast paced work environments as this is part of my routine in my current job. Former captain of the Welsh Ladies Under-18 Rugby Team, exemplifying exceptional leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking.

I am an individual who tackles any challenge head on and constantly strives to get the best outcome as possible. I can follow procedures and structures that are put in place to ensure safety/success at the workplace. I am also very committed and reliable with everything I do, from arriving at work on time being punctual, to arriving to rugby training and games early to get a head start on readiness for the session/game.

Experience

I have maintained two jobs over a 6 year period. both jobs being challenging in separate ways. I have developed a range of skills in communication in welsh and English, both being in pressure situations. I have also helped a relative within the construction industry over a fair period of time allowing me to gain knowledge of the industry.
I have maintained a range of jobs striving for development opportunities to challenge me. I starting my working experience at McDonalds, where I maintained this job for around 5 years. I then moved on to being a teaching assistant in a Welsh medium secondary school, this was a very rewarding job but there was no place to develop a career. I then ventured into insurance, Working for admiral Group. This was a role that did not suit me very well as the customer satisfaction was relatively low and there was no way to build rapport with the customer due to it only being online and heavily scripted. My current role has been best suited to me, working outdoors, providing customers with great service and keeping active. The role consists of manual labour of roofing equipment, the use of forklifts and providing excellent customer service. Polite, proactive and accurate.

Education

I earned 12 GCSE’s whilst studying in a welsh Secondary school, the mandatory GCSE’s and 3 additional including Construction, cookery and Physical Education. I then moved on to university where i studied a foundation degree leading to sport.
