Lennon Shale

Recently graduated music student (B/A (Hons) in Popular Music), trying to find the next step in my life. Either finding a role that allows me to put my skills developed in university to use, having studied many areas of the music industry: composition, studio producing, live sound, performance, music business, marketing. I have since began experimenting with programming, having completed a web development boot camp and currently taking a Codecademy full-stack developer course. I have prior experience with Python 2, and have since taken up HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with some Python3 and SQL experience too. 

I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking team player, who has plenty of experience working in multiple, vastly different areas. I have a skillset that allows me to work well within groups or teams on projects efficiently ensuring good communication and organisation, as well as a developed ability to learn or kick on with new or familiar areas such as a new software or technology, and a passion for creative work to supplement my overall skills.

I have worked multiple customer service/hospitality jobs, namely GREGGS, McDonald's, and J.D Wetherspoons. These jobs have allowed me to gain experience in customer facing skills, I know exactly the correct manner of approach to give a professional, friendly, and approachable service/interaction with any type of person. I have also worked extensively in kitchen environments, and so I have developed a very strong skillset relating to teamwork heavy roles, knowing exactly how to organise, communicate, and work effectively within a team of people. 

Having studied music in university and college, group work was at the forefront of everything we did. Countless group projects, working with people I am both familiar and unfamiliar with, and generally being required to make sure I am covering my responsibilities, or risk the entire group project's result. My education has allowed me to develop skills in areas both creative and pragmatic, having been taught advanced compositional or performance techniques, but also having written reports and dissertations on music business (licensing, marketing, international releases, etc.). I also had plenty of experience with technology that I had never encountered before, allowing me to develop my skills in learning and adapting to new and unfamiliar areas. 

Beyond university and college, I have completed an online boot camp with e-Careers, which covered HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python3, and SQL. I have since taken up Codecademy, to continue developing my skills in web development.
