- Support the Group Chief Actuary and the Group GI & AIL Chief Actuary in the discharge of their responsibilities. This includes a variety of activity, including opinions and reports for various stakeholders
- Providing high quality analysis and insights to relevant Group Committees in relation to all aspects of reserving to support the development of the Group's GI business
- Undertake reserve reviews including: liaising with the global GI actuarial community; requesting and analysing data; production of independent reserve reviews for all GI markets based on materiality; contributing to group guidance on IFRS and Solvency II methodology; the oversight of locally developed methodologies relevant to the determination of the IFRS and Solvency II technical provisions.

Achievements
- In my time at RCIB I have:
 Overseen a series of M&A transactions from a Pricing and Actuarial perspective identify synergies and opportunities for economies of scale across the different businesses
 Lead on negotiations with capacity providers, securing new delegated relationships in 2021
 Introduced the machine learning of telematics data for rating purposes including scores for acceleration, breaking, recklessness, speeding and nightime driving
 Owned and lead on a pricing transformation programme via Data Robot and Earnix
 Identified key areas of opportunity in terms of NB footprint
 Developed the rating capability around RCIB’s Breakdown Insurance product, the 3rd biggest breakdown product in the UK
 Created a Reserving process from scratch


05/18 – 09/19 John Lewis Partnership (JLP)                            London, UK
                            Head of Pricing and MI
- Lead on the pricing & data strategy for to deliver market leading pricing and value for JLP target shoppers
- Built strategic pricing capability for JLP by working closely with capacity providers
- I managed a team of 3 direct reports with direct influence over c.12 FTE
- In my time at JLP I:
 Stabilised a declining book by introducing a renewals mechanism to boost retention
 Introduced the use of retail data within the pricing algorithm
 Negotiated significant rate decreases in order to boost NB Sales
 Oversaw the launch of a product with a new insurer including leading on the pricing specifics in 
 Lead on Pricing RFP workshops
 Provided insight towards the development of new JLP insurance propositions
- A key feature of my role was to inspire, develop and motivate cross functional stakeholders in Marketing, Operations and Finance in order to deliver the team goals and objectives in a highly collaborative way

- Developed and delivered the independent risk price for all products
- Optimised premium strength, and provided insight into the drivers of cost inflation
- Designed effective rating logics to produce accurate risk prices on the rating engine
- Managed a team of pricing analysts, providing leadership, guidance, development and support
- Provided regular recommendations for changes to product coverage, underwriting rules and individual risk offer thresholds to ensure decisions were informed with technical input from a risk cost perspective
