Akbar Travels is part of Akbar Group established in 1978. One of the leading travel management company in Asia Pacific. With 52 IATA offices in India, 34 offices in middle east , 2 offices in the USA ,1 in Rome and Malaysia.
I was responsible for business development, contracting with airlines and GSA agents worldwide,UK and European attractions. Further establish good relationship with the airlines, suppliers and clienteles. My involvement in financial planning, marketing strategy development and implementation. Furthermore, I was also given responsible for the smooth running of a travel company managing below  • organising staff recruitment, training and administration. • arranging work shift timing for staff and allocating tasks • managing budgets, meeting sales targets and maximising profits • liaising with head office ,Branch offices and tour operators for marketing purposes • handling daily Banking , mail, email, phone enquiries and any customers’ complaints • updating holiday information and drawing any important new information to the attention of the staff • Selling package holidays and individual travel elements, including flights, hotels and car hire • writing reports for head office • Holding meetings to motivate the team to meet their sales targets. • Liaising with IT department with product content for B2B portal and Retail Site.

Head Office is located in Milton Keynes with branch offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, Madrid, Alicante , New York, Boston , San Francisco, and Los Angeles. It has two overseas call centre’s one in Nanning China and other in Mumbai , India. The Nanning Call centre handles Chinese speaking clients, English customer enquiries are dealt by Mumbai call centre.
I was responsible for business development, contracting with suppliers/airlines and GSA agents worldwide ,UK and European attractions. I was also the Omega Travel Group representative handling for ABTA affairs and arbitration matters, including legal court matters claim that has been made against the company. I was involved in company marketing activities in electronic media commercials. At the beginning of 2013 our ticketing turnover was £200 million sterling pounds and the destinations were mainly in China and the Far East, At the end of 2016, we achieved a total net turnover of air tickets of £360 million pounds. I helped expanding in new markets, in Asia, Africa, Australasia and Europe.
I also manage 60 employees at indian call Centre. My involvement was to motivating consultants ensuring professional service is delivered efficiently and sales targets are achieved. My involvement include Training and product developing activities with Call Centre Managers, supervisors, Team Leaders in order to ensure service standards are maintained and they have product knowledge and changes in the UK travel industries.
