Rotational Occupational Therapist in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (various local hospitals and community posts) from July 2017 – October 2020

  • Wide range of standardised and non-standardised assessment tools using various OT models and approaches
  • Working closely with the medical MDT and social services teams to achieve successful discharges for patients with complex mental, cognitive and physical care needs.

  • Up to date training in all mandatory areas such as manual handling with additional respiratory training, OT specific manual handling among others.
  • Wide range of acute physical and stroke rehabilitation skills
  • Use of mental health OT models to increase wellbeing, independence with short term and long term goals for acute and community mental health patients 
  • Trained in mindfulness therapies and CBT approaches for interventions
  • Experience providing education and managing care plans with family members with complex needs to produce good long term outcomes for patients
  • Safeguarding of vulnerable patients and their family members
  • Supporting clients with an intellectual disability alongside other core morbidities
  • COVID precautions and management
