Liz Boyes
About Liz Boyes:
Hey! I’m Liz, 29 and single parent.
Spaniel Connections was founded in 2019, to help owners and their pooches bond like they never thought possible. Having a strong relationship with your dog is so rewarding and will help you reach extremes like never before.
I offer 1-2-1 programmes, sessions, Spaniel classes, online courses and solo dog walks.
All training is force free, using games making training fun for both owner and dog. I use a number of different training techniques to help you reach your goals. My favourites being concept games, t-touch and scentwork. I do not use aversives such as prong, choke or e collars.
Life skills are the foundation for success allowing dogs to reach their full potential.
CPD is very important to me so I’m always keeping my knowledge up to date and learning new ways I can improve both my business and my teaching.
I recently decided I wanted to specialise in Spaniels, from a child they’ve had a soft spot and I just love everything about them. I’ve been a spaniel owner for 10+ years in that time I’ve owned 3, 2 show cockers and a springer. When I can I volunteer for CAESSR. Before I fell in love with the breed thanks to a very special cocker I was actually afraid of dogs, I had had a few negative experiences mostly with labradors as a child. So they saved me from a life without dogs. I got my first when I was 17, she changed my life, was my soul dog and not a day goes by I don’t miss her. We had our challenges but there wasn’t anything she would not do for me she trusted me with her life.
Experience
I am a certified Pro dog trainer with Absolute-Dogs since 2018, approved trainer with the Dog training college from 2019 and a platinum member with the Pet Professional Network from 2021. I’m a trainer with both DFA and Pawsable from 2021 helping train assistance dogs for children and adults with autism.
Spaniel Connections previously known as Canine Concept Cadets was founded by myself in 2019
Education
I believe in taking regular CPD and I do my training with a number of professionals some listed above.
There currently are no recognised qualifications in dog training or walking
I gained a level 3 National Certificate in Animal Management in 2011 with Sparsholt College.
