About Liz Duong:
I am an enthusiastic and dedicated English teacher with a strong academic foundation and a proven track record of empowering students to achieve their language goals. Holding a Master of Arts in TESOL at the University of Northampton, I confidently bring expertise in materials and course design, assessment creation, and innovative teaching methodologies. My experience spans working with diverse age groups, from young learners to adults, across general English, IELTS preparation, and communicative English.
My goal is to inspire learners by fostering engaging and interactive classroom environments, adapting curricula to meet individual needs, and leveraging modern tools to enhance learning. With a passion for cultural exchange and education, I am eager to contribute to a dynamic ESL teaching role and am fully prepared to relocate to bring effective and inclusive education to students worldwide.
Experience
I have over five years of teaching experience in English Language and Literature, both in group settings and as a private tutor. During this time, I have taught general English, IELTS preparation, and intermediate courses to students aged 5 and above. I design and implement engaging lesson plans, customize curricula based on my students’ needs, and use interactive methods like games to keep my classes engaging and effective.
My teaching has significantly improved students’ speaking and listening skills, with a high success rate of advancing learners to higher proficiency levels. Over the years, I have consistently received positive feedback from my supervisors, students, and their parents. My expertise also includes classroom management, materials development, and pronunciation training, enabling me to create a supportive and motivating environment that fosters growth and success for my students.
Education
I hold a Distinction Master of Arts (MA) in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the University of Northampton. My studies focused on key areas such as materials and course design, teaching methodologies, and assessment and test construction, all of which have strengthened my ability to teach English effectively. Additionally, I earned a 120-hour TESOL certification from Apollos University, which provided me with practical techniques for teaching English to diverse learners. My undergraduate degree in English Translation and Interpretation from Ho Chi Minh University of Education further built my expertise in English language proficiency and communication, with a GPA of 3.35/4.0.
