Louise Davies-Boulton

From 2020 I worked as a Student Advisor at Hartpury University. I was one of two advisors at the time caring for 2000+ students. I was, for many students, their first point of contact during a crisis. As such, I have been able to support hundreds of student’s progress through University and support them in paving a path into jobs, further study, international study and experiences. Some of the ways in which I supported these students was by understanding their situation and desires. Supporting them to create study plans, CV’s, admission statements and acting as a reference. I am committed to helping students break boundaries that are preventing them from accessing and achieving their goals. 

I possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills which continue to enable me to build rapports with students, employers, staff, and external organisations. In my current role as a training coordinator, I have been able to help students identify their strengths and help them to develop long-term career plans. Through my vast experience as an educator, I am comfortable presenting and conducting workshops, seminars, and fairs.

I graduated in summer 2019 with a first-class honours’ degree in Primary Education and Business & Management. In my final year I completed a research module on behalf of marketing company Bray Leino CX into ‘what can be learnt from success in implementing experience-based marketing’. Through conducting interviews with five CEO’s and marketing directors I was able to collate and analyse a wealth of qualitative data that produced interesting and relevant findings for the company. These findings were published to their website. I also conducted research into how pupil voice can be utilised to support the educational needs of looked after children within Gloucestershire. I was able to gain insight from a looked after student, designated teacher and virtual school head. The research provided useful results which I have later been able to transfer into schools and colleges. This research has shaped my educational philosophy and supports me in providing student centred learning.
