I currently work as a night care manger for Ideal carehomes at Hepworth house I’ve worked here for the past in year now in which I work at another care home previously.
My main responsibility in my current role is being able to manage a team which consists of both care assistants and senior care assistants. My managerial responsibilities include being able to allocate staff to specific units and deleagte tasks to achieve an outstanding level of care whilst maintaining an efficient use of resources. 
Throughout the night i will monitor all members of staff to ensure we as a team are achieving our superb care standards.
 

In my current role with have a supervision system. These supervisions are essentially work related reviews and can be both positive and negative. I include things the staff member is doing particularly well with and also things the may need to improve on. This allows me to see my teams strengths and weakness, which i review and can structure training and resource management around this.

With me being a manager on the night shift I am often the most senoir person in the care home. This comes with the great resonsibility of dealing with any major incidents and accidents. I routinely conduct a route cause analysis on all incidents that occured over the course of my shift and the relay the document i have created over to all members of staff either personally or via the morning handover. This also includes contacting the residents next of kin and ensuring their family are aware and updated with correct and factual information regarding their relative.

Flexibility is one of my proudest traits. Although my main role at my current organisation is night care manager, I often cover the deputy managers position on the day shift when required.

As a part of my daily duties i routinely create and update shift rotas for my team as well attempt to cover as many shifts as possible personally. I believe that staff should be able to take their holidays when they need them and by allowing this and creating an organised rota with ample cover, this boosts staff morale, creates a more cohervise team unit and promotes a positive working environment.
Carrying out regular medication audits to ensure ample amount of stock, to resolve or prevent any issues relating to service users medications using by using correct policies and procedures. Attended regular training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and safeguarding practices.
Provided support to staff, maintaining best practice policies and procedures.
Provided thorough and strategic day-to-day operational management for smooth running of the home.
Upheld quality of care, continually assessing residents needs and wishes and developing services to enhance quality of life.
