Following a successful Management Buyout of the company from the Inaer Group, acted as Managing Director for the company.

Achievements:

• Successful Management buyout from the Inaer Group, retaining 60% ownership

• Growing annual sales from £3.9M in 2013 to £5.1M in 2019 with consistent annual profits

• Development of blade repair capability, requiring £700K investment for the acquisition of assets and refurbishment of a newly leased 1,000sqm hangar.

• Lead the company through the COVID pandemic, Brexit and war in Ukraine, all of which had a negative impact for an aviation company with 50% exports and 10% of business conducted with Russian customers.

• Consolidated unique capabilities -overhaul of A109 components

• Sale of the majority shares to a Private Investor in December 2022, providing minority shareholders with >10% growth year on year since their investment.

May 2008 – September 2013

Grupo Inaer, Managing Director for Inaer Maintenance UK and Inaer Ireland Finance

Global leading provider of aerial emergency services and aircraft maintenance for mission critical operations.

Employed by the Inaer Group to manage a newly acquired Helicopter Maintenance facility in the UK. In November 2010, also appointed as Managing Director for Inaer Ireland Finance Ltd, a newly formed Group company providing Financing to other Group entities for acquisitions. During 2012 part of the Management team working in the Restructuring of the Spanish Group of companies, acting as Logistics Director for Inaer Maintenance Spain during the restructuring process.

Achievements:

• Fast integration into the Aviation Industry, becoming approved by the Civil Aviation Authority as Accountable and Quality Manager for Inaer Maintenance UK• Growing annual sales from £2.8M in 2007 to £3.9M in 2013, generating a consistent profit for Inaer Maintenance UK Ltd following 7 years of negative results under previous management.

• Structuring and Financial Management of Inaer Ireland Finance generating intercompany loans during 2011 to a value of €130M.

August 2003 – April 2008

Selden Masts Ltd, Composites Product Manager

Worldwide leading supplier of aluminium and composite spars to the marine industry.

Initially in charge of the relocation of the business to a purpose built factory, establishing requirements, budgets and schedules.

Responsible for general management of the composites department. Setting up investment budgets. Supervising production and purchasing management. Liaising and training of an international Sales Team. Leading a team of Design Engineers to design composite spars to specific customer requirements. Providing technical support to the production team.

Achievements:

• Successful business relocation to a purpose built factory

• Re-launched product image in order to broaden market

• Development of a range of filament wound spars and all associated fittings

• Increased department turnover threefold

November 2000 - August 2003

Carbospars SL (Spain), Design Engineer, Production and Personnel Manager

Superyacht spar manufacturer. Provider of re-fit and repair service.

Initially responsible for the planning of the new factory in Mallorca, Spain. Dealt with Architects and Build Managers. Recruited all new office and production staff. Managed training of workshop personnel.

While maintaining a role as Design Engineer, I managed production and supervised the purchasing team. Project Managers worked under my supervision in order to monitor complex build projects. I was also involved in Sales, particularly with the superyacht repair and maintenance service.

Achievements:

• International business relocation to a purpose built factory, recruitment and training management of all new office and production staff

• Management of several superyacht projects to time and budget schedules

August 1997 – November 2000

Carbospars Ltd (UK), Composites Design Engineer

Composite spar manufacturer for one-off racing superyachts.

Initially employed as Design Engineer, I quickly progressed to manage all AeroRig® projects, liaising with customer in order to establish requirements, monitoring of project throughmanufacture and finally commissioning the spars and providing customer training and technical support.

Professional yachtsman

Preparing boats and taking part in national and international yacht racing events.

Achievements:

• Crew member for the 1993 entry to the Whitbread Round the World Race.
