About MICHELLE CAMPBELL:

Being  extremely capable and extraordinarily knowledgeable in health care with 22+ years of experience within different health care settings. I am looking for a role in a dynamic organization where I can apply my skills and experience. I have 6+ years of professional managerial experience as well as completed several qualifications along the way to enhance my knowledge. I don't have the NVQ level 5 in management as it is not needed for the role I am currently in due to the level of clinical experience I have. However, I am willing to undertake any necessary training in order to change my career direction for the better. I have had experience in seeing the catastrophic effects addiction can have on person from personal and professional perspective however, we can discuss that in detail if I'm successful with the next stage.

It is no secret that changes are happening rapidly in the way primary and secondary care are working together. This then leading to a knock on effect to those who live in a social care setting and the wider general population.

Currently we are seeing shifts in funding for our practices which impact on service provision. As clinical/non-clinical managers, we are the people on the ground with a clear view of all the issues, and it is vital that we are involved in discussions around the bigger picture and future plans for our NHS.

Working with the Trust Primary Care Federation gave me more of an important and cohesive voice when working with the ICB, the hospital Trusts and Bradford Care Alliance. Allowing me to advocate for those who had no idea what was happening behind the scenes. I had a real say in what happens in our local community and play a vital role in determining the care for our patients.

Because I have a huge advantage of witnessing these specific changes and had input on how to rectify issues identified. I have been able to ensure that regardless of funding this did not impact on the quality of care my patients received.

As a manager, I am a proactive leader who always thrives for excellence when it come down to patient care.  From the day of the onboarding process to the completion of induction patient centred approach is at the forefront of everything I have achieved so far.

My whole service is a well oiled machine as I always give 100% therefore my team follow suit. Every member is treated with respect and kindness regardless of ability, qualifications, gender, race or age. I do not give a task to any of my team that I wouldn't happily do myself whether that be to complete a tricky venous sample or assist a patient with a discrepancy they have.

If you are seeking a dynamic and successful health care professional with a proven track record of success, I am your candidate! I admit I still have a lot to learn professionally however, I am dedicated and willing to undertake any necessary training to improve my self academically.

Experience

When I left school, I went straight in to a computer sales with a company called Spectrum Computer suppliers. I was with them for a short while of 2 years and in that time, I realised sales wasn’t for me. I then moved to a company called Direct Line where I worked as a customer service advisor. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and soon became the team manager within 18 months. In-between my day job I also part owed a public house called the Roebuck in Greengates Bradford for a short time. I then became pregnant in September 2004 and left Direct Line and the Roebuck as I was pregnant and wanted to focus on raising my baby. I had 2 years off work with my daughter and then decided on a career change. I was a support worker for adults with learning disabilities. I have 7+ years’ experience of providing the best quality of care. I understand the importance of providing a safe environment for the people I support. I have experience in dealing with individuals that have very acute special needs such as quadriplegia, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, severe hearing loss and epilepsy. Over the years I have earned and studied hard to achieve an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social care and a Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care. I regularly update myself with the relevant training I need to provide the best service. Daily I update care plans accordingly, complete risk assessments, annual reviews, person centred meeting, and keep in regular contact with their parents/ family members.

I then left Weaver Court and ventured into secondary care at the Bradford Royal Infirmary ward 14 (Urology) as a HCA. This was a fast-paced surgical ward. I learnt several clinical skills including venepuncture, cannulation, catherisation and how to do accurate observations such as pulse, BP and oxygen levels.

I have worked in a GP surgery as the lead HCA. Taking charge of the HCA team making sure all duties are completed to the highest of standards. I was also the anti-coagulation lead of Bradford City Service and the wound care specialist for CCG.

I soon wanted more so I went to university to gain a degree in Paramedic Science. I soon realised the emotional/mental torment that came with the roles and responsibilities of a Paramedic was not for me. Therefore, didn’t continue with this career path.

I then became Lead Senior working for a charitable organisation called United Response. I provided leadership for a staff team who care for people who suffered with challenging behaviour, learning disabilities and autism.

My Current role is the Service Manager for the Community Anti-Coagulation Service of the Bradford District. I manage a team of Health Care Assistants and Pharmacists who provide an efficient service for those who take Warfarin. I take on the responsibility of rotas, finance/budgets, data analysis, taking blood samples from patients, medication management, staff appraisals and supervisions as well as the day-to-day leadership of the service.

I am at a time in my life where I need a new challenge in Health Care as my role no longer fills me with happiness and I am often board. I am driven, enthusiastic and full of energy ready to take on a new adventure!
