About Michelle Ibanez-Martin:
I am a dedicated and compassionate educator with over 11 years of experience teaching English as a Foreign Language to children and young adults. I co-founded and ran a successful language school in Spain, where I developed a student-centred approach tailored to different learning needs, including neurodiverse learners. I have worked in both academic and pastoral roles, including summer schools in Oxford, and I’m passionate about creating inclusive, engaging learning environments.
Now based back in the UK with my three children, I am eager to continue my career in education and support roles, especially within settings that value diversity, wellbeing, and holistic development. I bring strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and a deep commitment to supporting children and young people to thrive.
Experience
I am an experienced English language teacher and education professional with over 11 years of classroom experience. I co-founded and managed a language academy in Spain, where I taught English to children and teenagers aged 6–18, created tailored learning plans, and supported students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs. I have also worked in UK summer schools, such as St. Clare’s and CES Oxford, in both teaching and pastoral roles. My strengths include lesson planning, differentiated instruction, classroom management, and building strong relationships with students and families. I am now based in the UK and seeking roles in education or student support where I can continue making a positive impact.
Education
I hold a Level 2 Certificate in Support Work in Schools, which has provided me with a solid understanding of classroom support, safeguarding, and the national curriculum. I also have a Level 2 Diploma in IT and 7 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths. My educational background supports my practical experience working with children and young people in both mainstream and additional needs settings.
