About Miles Cameron:

Miles Cameron is a Project Executive with a strong project management and strategy development background. His most recent role with The Law Society involved managing the Annual Workstreams Project, which comprised six interconnected streams and 50 Work Packages, including Conferences, Courses, Podcasts, Roundtables, Webinars, Networking Events, and Committee Meetings. He has exceptional relationship management, customer and client support, communication and systems thinking abilities. He honed these skills while providing frontline support to vulnerable individuals, such as refugees, domestic abuse victims, business owners, and members of the general public during his time in the Civil Service. Experience

Membership Engagement Project Executive, The Law Society of England and Wales

The Project Executive managed the planning and execution of these Projects as assigned, collaborating with Senior Managers and team members in Marketing, Events, Policy, and Learning and Development. Specifically, Miles used PRINCE2 methodologies to manage the implementation of the Annual Workstreams Project. 

  • Developed Project Initiation Documentation, using PRINCE2 Methodologies to create and lead a new Communication Management Approach, Risk Management Approach, and Quality Management Approach across the various department: Marketing, Events, Learning and Development, Policy (etc.)
  • Built and managed SharePoint and Teams Channel for all Work Packages within the Annual Workstreams Project, updating internal stakeholders. Established reporting processes to ensure the Project Board (Heads of Departments) could assess the status of the Annual Workstreams Project—managed workstreams through “SharePoint” and various supporting Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Researched Conference Programmes (200+ attendees) with internal stakeholders, advisory Committee Members and relevant subject matter experts.
  • Supported the Membership Engagement Manager in developing Webinars and Learning and Development courses with input from the advisory committee. Organised meetings, wrote minutes, and ensured that deadlines were met.

Decision Maker (Enhanced Capability Work Coach) Specialist in Self-employment, Department for Work and Pensions

Responsible for investigating, supporting, and assessing the viability of businesses. This is via intensive appointments and requires that the business owner provide substantive evidence that they are “gainfully self-employed” as defined by the Department of Work and Pensions. 

  • Analysed large amounts of information to produce individually written, clear, structured letters on behalf of the Department outlining reasons for deciding a claimant’s self-employed status.
  • Researched specialist knowledge of DWP policy, keeping up to date with guidance, seeking advice and escalating to senior colleagues or specialists.
  • Provided accurate information professionally and helpfully by collecting and assessing relevant data and information from various sources provided by the claimant and their businesses.
  • Managed a caseload of 200+ Self-Employed Claimants, providing advice and support after decisions on their status were made.

Work Coach Floor Manager, Department for Work and Pensions

  • Managed a caseload of 500+ Claimants, coaching them into work; encouraging them to think into the future to better themselves.
  • Managed the appointments/diaries of Work Coaches across multiple Teams
  • Managed Interviews between Claimants and Employers within the Job Centre 
  • Communicated appointment dates, organised meetings between Work Coaches and claimants, liaising with Team Leaders when necessary
  • Provided support to claimants claiming Universal Credit, Legacy Job Seekers Allowance, and New Style Job Seekers Allowance 
  • Assessed the abilities of claimants to ensure they have access to the relative courses, advice, knowledge and skills to improve themselves
  • Built positive relationships with claimants, building trust and motivating them
  • Imparted an in-depth knowledge of local employment opportunities and support to claimants 
  • Made timely and effective decisions based on the claimant’s needs
  • Communicated with various claimants from different backgrounds, from professionals to the highly vulnerable.  Assessing their issues and providing them with opportunities to move forwards.
