About Mohammad Muaz Khan:
I am on the cusp of finishing my final placement as a Trainee Teacher at the end of June, 2024. Therefore- I am looking for ECT opportunties abroad so that I can pursue my teaching career in a vibrant and culturally- rich environment. I look forward to hearing from you, please do not hesitate to contact.
Experience
I have always role-modelled the values of integrity, empathy and fortitude as a Teaching Assistant, where I have visited many different types of schools, quickly settling into my environment. I accomplished this by ensuring I always had my students’ attention during every lesson, as I encouraged positive behaviour while discouraging or ignoring negative behaviour. I always upheld the highest standard of professionalism, never shouting but being loud when necessary to garner all my pupils’ attention. I would never curse, but I spoke in complete, coherent, sophisticated sentences inside and outside the classroom. I always empathised with the disadvantages students faced in their learning, vowing to make sure they learn with the belief that each of them would succeed, as this was not instilled in me as a child. Therefore, I am passionate about empathising with all students’ challenges, whether safeguarding issues, peer pressure, or self-doubt in academic skills. I wish to give every child a wholesome, fond and academically successful school experience, which I lacked during my childhood education.
I have the fortitude to consistently seek out constructive criticism from experienced colleagues to understand the role, strategies, and pedagogical skillsets an educational practitioner will need at their disposal. Moreover, I am more than aware that I will always need to learn from all of my colleagues and their teaching styles. I displayed excellent levels of collaboration in the KS1 and KS2 settings, where I would discuss teaching methods with the main teacher to carry out their vision for the lesson. I would always work as an excellent collaborator as I am always in my current tenure as a Year 6 trainee teacher, collaborating with teachers by observing and seeking inspiration from how they plan and lead lessons. Additionally, I strive to emulate my mentor’s and senior teaching colleagues’ practice in my teaching style, continually reviewing my teaching practice at the very least weekly.
I collaborate with parents, informing them how their children are progressing in their learning, and being approachable, I always say I am open for a chat to discuss methods to improve their children’s learning. I would also inform parents how their children are positively progressing in their learning in the lessons. I have implemented creative tactics when teaching Mathematics by using interactive maths games through technology, when possible, to engage and test students’ knowledge. I lead interactive sessions of guiding students in compelling exercises such as writing a story completed by each student adding a sentence at a time, as this allows me to assess their spelling, grammar and sentence structuring. Moreover, my plan for the music lesson is to teach my students to sing Qasidah Sama, which is Arabic poetry that I have learned and practised ever since my childhood, to creatively stimulate and instil passion into my students when they engage with learning and implementing knowledge.
I have wanted to live in the Middle East for a long time, having heard wonderful stories from people who have enjoyed their time there, and I now wish to make it my home. Living and working in such a culturally vibrant and rich country excites me as I begin the next chapter in my life as a teacher. Being in the Middle East will also allow me to become closer to my Islamic faith and improve my Arabic language skills.
Education
I am a successful and driven graduate passionate about making a difference in students’ lives. With a degree in education from the highly regarded University of Birmingham in the UK, I am now studying for a Post-Graduate Diploma (PGCE Advanced) in primary education at the same university. This course will give me experience of being the main teacher for pupils in both Key Stages 1 and 2. I wish to apply for a teaching role, during which I would like to complete the early careers teacher (ECT) programme. I have no preference as I am adaptable to teach either Key Stage 1 or 2, as I am gaining experience in teaching year 6 and year 1.
