About Comfort Akingbade:
I'm a second year Psychology and Marketing student with a keen interest in FMCG, Tech and Healthcare marketing. I'm looking to gain relevant experience within a CRM-focused company applying traditional/digital marcomms and using data to help aid the delivery of marketing campaigns that make a real difference.
Experience
Big Parking – Marshal (Apr 2025 -)
Overseeing that events procedure is followed by welcoming customers, taking card payments via Zettle and ensuring high levels of customer service in transit throughout the site (key events: Groundswell Festival, Great Birmingham Run) Handling traffic signs and parking cars across different venues on matchdays. Venues include: Y International, Birmingham Community Association, South and City College etc.

Current Degree: BSc Psychology and Marketing (2024 - 2028)
Key Modules:
Market Research:
- Carried out data collection: qualitative, quantitative and reviewed sampling ethics.
- Conducted focused data analysis: statistics, hypothesis testing and analysis in SPSS.
Marketing Principles:
- Identified several marketing environments (internal, external, political, environmental, socio-cultural) the influence of the economic environment and how these factors influence marketing strategy.
- Focused look at marketing objectives using STP (segmentation, targeting, positioning) strategies and what impacts consumer behaviour on individual, social and cultural levels
- Understanding marketing in context of: Supply Chain, Retail, E-commerce and Logistics
- Created business pitch based on helping a friend develop a snack bar brand considering STP, SWOT analysis, brand mission, product and development decisions.
Marketing Communications:
- Learnt about communication process and CDJs (customer decision journeys).
- Created a 6-part portfolio in response to prompts using a range of marcomms - advertising PR, sales promotion.
- Covered marketing strategy and campaign planning using models like SWOT, PESTLE, DRIP and the 3Ps (pull, push, profile).
Technical Experience:
- Basic programming knowledge: HTML, JavaScript, JSON, CSS (operated using node.js).
- Market research and data analysis conducted through software like Jamovi and SPSS.
- Adobe/Adobe Express utilising templates, elements and colour scheme continuity.
- MS services for presenting and data entry (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Canva in formatting blog posts, infographics and magazine covers.
Soft Skills:
- High attention to detail and organisational ability (Able to multitask two marketing committee roles, events management part time role and academic commitments).
- Team-orientated (Active member within a competitive cheerleading team).
- Proficient in problem solving and working with a diverse range of clientele given my customer service experience.
- Innovative thinker with a creative background allowing me to take alternative and original approaches to marketing challenges.
- Extroverted personality which allows me to build networks and sustain business relations.
