About Mubarak Aden:

I am an extremely hard working, innovative, motivated individual possessing good communication skills and a profound drive to reach and exceed productivity goals. I consider myself to be an excellent team-player proven by my extensive experience liaising with individuals within healthcare multi-disciplinary teams whether it be in a bustling clinic setting or a smaller-scale, more specific GP setting. Conducting primary and secondary research is a passion of mine having had experience in this through working on a year-long research project throughout my university placement year utilising Microsoft Excel data analysis. I have an intrigue for client-facing roles, the breadth of day-to-day activities and adaptability required is exciting, thus analyst and consultancy roles have piqued my interest. I enjoy presenting ideas and findings that I’ve gathered, whether it be to senior colleagues or executive-level clients.

Matchday Society Social Secretary:                                                                          March 2021 to present

I serve as the Social Secretary of the Matchday Society at the University of Warwick. I am primarily tasked with organising social events, planning and ensuring the smooth-running of daytrips for the society, ensuring welfare of all and upcoming members, advertising the society and being a friendly representative for the society such to encourage other students to feel welcomed yet excited to join.

Global Home Care:                                                                                                       Summer 2018 and 2019

Across two summers I volunteered at a home healthcare service. Throughout my time here I had to be quick-thinking and had to exercise personal responsibility when carrying out my actions. My understanding for the importance of clear and coherent communication was also consolidated.

Open Door Surgery:                                                                                                                          August 2016

I worked as an Administrator at my local GP surgery as an embedded work experience programme from my secondary school. Here I developed excellent communication skills through interactions with the public, creating appointments and fielding relevant queries. My organisation skills also were enhanced through the creation of appointments and maintenance of accurate records.

Education and Academic Achievements

University of Warwick:                                                                                                       September 2018 to present

I am currently on track for a first-class honours having achieved an average of 64% in my first year (10 % degree weighting) and 74.2% in my second year (30% degree weighting).  I successfully completed a year long placement between my second and final year at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire in the Centre for Reproductive Medicine, working as a Trainee Andrologist. This provided me with a taste of working in a demanding professional setting, whereby I witnessed how scientific techniques learnt in my degree were applied in the ‘real world’. Throughout the year I also worked on a research project titled ‘The relationship between FSH levels and the success of surgical sperm retrieval’.
Upon completion of my placement year, I received an award for ‘Best Placement Student 20.21’ from the university and this was based on employer feedback.
