About Nafisa Chowdhury:
Personally, I am a determined and driven person who is friendly and a bit of an extrovert. I can work within teams or individually. These attributes are due to my resilient nature in the face of a challenge. The strong interpersonal skills I have developed through my studies at college and through the various projects I undertook has allowed me to build fast and effective relationships with both staff and customers. They have allowed me to become better at communicating and be more approachable. My time in college involved various projects which enabled me to have better time management, organisation, and planning as well as communication. In addition, from my previous volunteer work, such as at a vaccination centre and from previous work experience at a hairdresser I have learnt to adapt to new environments quickly. I have the confidence to approach and interact with customers. From this opportunity I plan to improve these interpersonal and practical skills valued in the workplace.
Experience
The Belgian waffle Company: April 2020 – January 2021
This part time job mainly involved preparing and packaging duties. However, I have learned valuable lessons from this experience. It has allowed me to understand the importance of deadlines and completing my task and responsibilities within them. The strict adherence to these deadlines means that I can make better judgements on which tasks are urgent and important so I may complete them first. This has allowed me to keep on top my workload in terms of this job as well my studies.
Vaccination centre: 2021
During covid I volunteered at my local vaccination centre and was able to learn more about the roles of a doctor and nurse especially teamwork. During this time, I was able to learn and improve skills like:
