About Namita Patil:
Aerospace Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering bachelor's background, currently pursuing an MSc in Aerospace Dynamics. Experience of working as the Team Lead for 2 years, with responsibility for project management tasks, timelines and monitoring technical performances. Skilled in presenting results and analysis to clients. Possesses the ability to tailor communication skills to reach client objectives. Open-minded about real-time applications of suggested solutions to the given problem. Aware of the limitations of applying the solutions suggested by design analyses in terms of material, manufacturing, costing and time.
Experience
Performed CFD analysis of Pump-intake Structure to check for vortices in the sump and calculate swirl angles of water entering the pump suction pipe in ANSYS CFX. Less swirl angles at suction results in better efficiency and performance of pumps. Coordinated and led the Physical Model Test for the same system to validate CFD results and found it in close comparison to CFD results with less than 5% error. Approved the design from the Chief Engineer of State Government Irrigation Department. Was mentored by ex-CEO of Kirloskar Brothers. Completed Chlorine Mixing analysis for Drinking Water Chlorination, Vortex Structure Analysis of Sewage System, CFD analysis of a 5km long pipeline with a diameter of about 3.575m for head loss. Fulfilled the responsibilities of technically leading and managing these projects.
Education
MSc in Aerospace Dynamics at Cranfield University
- Modules: Compressible Flows, Viscous Flows and Environmental Impact, Launch and Re-entry modules, Experimental Aerodynamics, Transonic Aerodynamics Design, Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics and CFD for Aerospace, Navigation and Sensors.
- Thesis Project: Computational Aerodynamic Analysis of ONERA M6 wing at transonic flow speeds for different incidence angles and Mach number definitions.
- Group Project: In Flight Experimental Methods module, learned stability, control and performance characteristics of conventional aircraft. Conducted flight tests on SAAB 340 for understanding concepts of equilibrium, trim, static, manoeuvre and dynamic stability of aircraft. Analysed the collected data from flight tests and historic data applying flight test principles and assessment methods.
