- Held MD/COO and Director level roles for energy services, utility, engineering, construction and FM organisations.
- Vast experience in successfully managing district heating/CHP schemes across the UK whilst supporting internal functions - business development, engineering, design, construction, commercial & customer service.
- UK District Heating Projects/Operations History: NHM 1.8MW, Grosvenor Waterside 1.4MW, Royal Arsenal 15MW, Blackburn Meadows 25MW, Citigen 25MW, Cranbrook 10MW, Kings Cross 12.4MW, NHS Trust Blackpool 1.2MW, Bath Riverside 250kW, Centenary Quays 700kW, Colindale Gardens 1.6MW, Dalston Square 5MW, New South Quarter 500kW, Queensland Rd 400kW and many more…
- Established a new HIU service department to support internal and third-party district heating schemes.
- Introduced an Adoption Model - post due diligence, introduced third party schemes into the O&M portfolio.
- An industry champion for climate change, sustainability, decarbonisation, and innovation to achieve net zero,
- History of successfully managing engineering, construction, operations, procurement, commercial, QHSE, HR, IT, fleet, customer service, business development departments.
- Overseen the project delivery of over 40 low carbon/renewable energy plants (1200MW) UK/Ireland.
- Extensive experience in the project management, operational delivery and ongoing contract management of multi £m energy services contracts across the public, private and corporate sectors.
- Key stakeholder in transforming a 20m District Heating business into a 1.2bn success over a 3yr period.
- Worked on > £3bn of infrastructure/low carbon energy, decarbonation, utility, healthcare and PFI projects.
- Managed over 1200MW of decentralised energy biased assets spanning, district heating, CHP (gas, biogas, biofuel, ) biomass, anaerobic digestion, EFW, heat pumps, battery storage, solar and onshore wind.
- Managed multidisciplinary teams-800, Engineering, Projects, Operations, Asset Management, Customer care.
- Overseen the mobilisation, construction, project delivery, O&M of > 400MW WTG’s across the UK.
- Managed the engineering, construction and operational departments of a global wind energy business.
- Introduced 4 x O&M control hubs, remote monitoring and asset optimisation/management systems.
- Previously held P&L responsibility for engineering/operations within a 1.5bn business - circa 80m P&L.
- Commercial/budget modelling and contract build for multi-million-pound D&B, EPC, MEP, CDM businesses.
- Key stakeholder in delivering a range of engineering/energy/utility biased projects from 500k to 140m.
- Developed operational, maintenance and customer service strategies for 4 energy/engineering businesses.
- Introduced asset management systems for 5 organisations thus optimising business/operational delivery.
- Introduced robust processes, systems and business tools to achieve project and service excellence.
- Successfully delivered a business transformation programme to prevent closure and secure the long-term stability and future for a failing shipping/rail terminal that supported the UK energy sector.
- Developed engineering/projects/operational/compliance dashboards to support management decisions.
- As QHSE sponsor for several businesses - I’m passionate about QHSE leadership and compliance.
