About Omofemi Bowyer:

I am a recent King’s College BPS accredited Psychology graduate, and I am currently undertaking a 10-week ImROC (Implementing Recovery through Organisational Change) training course hosted by the NHS to become an accredited Peer Support Worker. I have also spent 2 years working closely with individuals with a range of disabilities, difficulties and disorders, including, but not limited to, Fragile X Syndrome and Schizophrenia. Aside from hands-on experience with the real-life challenges individuals with mental health disorders and disabilities face, I have strong administrative and organisational skills developed in my job role as one of only 4 team members tackling the patient side of a world-wide shortage of Novo-Nordisk’s life-saving growth hormones. Eventually, I hope to use my experience to become a clinical psychologist

Experience

Novo Admin Support | Alcura Homecare

JAN 2023 – MARCH 2023

Enhanced customer experience by providing administrative support for a large pharmaceutical company after a world-wide shortage of life-saving medication affecting vulnerable populations. This included calling up to 50 patients and their careers a day to reassure, update and refer training visits to the nursing team, as well as schedule, and record, deliveries of cold-chain medication.

Formed an integral part of a 3-person administrative support team where I managed my own caseload and provided daily reports, allowing me to refine my organisation, project management, bookkeeping and time management skills.

Provided training and support for new starters.

Improved efficiency of the team by collating, refining, and processing data on spreadsheets I updated daily.

Controlled and organised my own inbox on the team outlook.

Sustained company legality by adhering to strict data processing laws and continually updating my knowledge and training to provide the best possible customer experience in a precarious situation.

Domiciliary Support Worker | Olympus Care Services

OCT 2020 – DEC 2022

Assisted vulnerable adults with a range of developmental and neurological disorders in the management of day-to-day activities. For example, meal preparation, medication administration and transportation to and from doctors’ appointments and personal activities.

Enhanced customer’s quality of life by providing emotional and practical support tailored to the individual’s needs, which ranged from bereavement support to implementing daily picture schedules recommended by therapists and clinical psychologists.

Reduced instances of harm and increased quality of care by collaboration with a team of carers, doctors and nurses to continually update and refine care plans for vulnerable and at-risk adults.

Developed lasting and impactful relationships with service-users with challenging behaviours by using a range of skills in compassion and patience.

Improved service-users’ abilities to live independently and with choice and dignity by maintaining the highest standards of care.

Aided in the provision of 24/7 security and care for residents by alternating between day and night shifts.

Provided well-rounded care for residents by alternating between lone-working and team-working.

Continuously updated training on data protection, whistleblowing procedures, and safe-guarding procedures
