An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a strong aptitude for organisation, customer service and administration. Experience of working with the public has taught diplomacy skills, as well as a degree of assertiveness.  Now seeking an opportunity to further develop my skills and experience within a customer service environment.

I am a passionate and hardworking individual who would love the opportunity to bring my dedication, experience and relevant skills to a company that allows me to have the drive to flourish, expand on my knowledge and help me to advance my current skill set.

I have served at Asda for just over nine years, where six of those years my skills were advanced on the checkouts. During this time, I supported the organisation of the Click and Collect, returns, the cleanliness and tidiness of the checkout areas and the handling and collection of the cash at the end of the shift. I then soon advanced to being solely responsible for the checkouts in a different area of the store, where I placed returns on the shop floor whilst serving customers at the same time. I also maintained the cleanliness and tidiness of the checkouts, including emptying the bins, brushing the floor and filling the carrier bags and ensured the baskets that were used by customers were returned downstairs. I usually took responsibility of this role on my own, where I successfully managed this from start to finish.

During my time at Asda, I have developed good and lasting relationships with my peers, where they felt comfortable to come to me when they needed help. This had driven me to become an advocate for Colleagues Voice, where honesty and integrity was vital.  I was also responsible for the inclusion and involvement of the store and to support the store manager. This was achieved by organising events on special occasions such as Valentines Day, Easter, Eid and Christmas, where colleagues felt valued and appreciated and also had the opportunity to discover various diversities within the community.

I further developed my skills on the shop floor, where I had the opportunity to develop my knowledge of the placement of the store, the systems used and the deliveries. I was then advanced to the responsibility of landing promotions in the store. I then moved on to conducting price changes, POS, sales/deletes and deliveries, where I am now fully competent in my role. Being in this position also allowed me to be at the forefront of helping customers with any queries during their time in the store.

During the coronavirus pandemic, I was put on furlough and made the decision to branch out to help the public by taking on the role of a team leader at a coronavirus test centre. This opportunity allowed me to build on my leadership skills, which included 1-2-1 meetings where I was able to coach and motivate team members as well as hear and voice their concerns to encourage a safe and healthy working environment. I was also responsible for handling payroll, mandatory training for all team members and delegating tasks to a team of 25+ people.

I am driven to improve my current skills and to continue my experience to contribute to a happy environment for both my colleagues and customers. I would love the opportunity to be a part of a community that allows me to flourish, grow and have a positive impact on those around me
