About Paul Jones:

I am a creative leader who has gained a wealth of experience working with both brands and retail clients across the globe.  I have gained a deep understanding of customer experience, brand, retail design, customer trends and  balance this with the commercial needs of the business. I have worked both agency and client side,  designing award winning luxury department stores, beauty halls, food and fashion stores. I have managed  and developed large multidisciplinary teams and have hired and worked with many leading creative  agencies. I regularly present to and work with CEO, CCO and board level directors. I am a people centric  leader, nurturing and growing talent, taking pride from developing others. 


 

Experience

 John Lewis Partnership ​Head of Brand, Store Experience

Leading a broad team of circa 60 partners, including Space, Concept Design, Store Planning, Format Development and Visual merchandising teams with 5 direct reports.  Delivering new concepts and propositions across all stores, working with own brand and Brands to develop and deploy new propositions and services into our stores.  My role is an executive role and includes a place on the Commercial Board and managing a portfolio of projects and Capex funding of circa £60m PA.  

Tesco Plc - ​Head of Brand, Store Design and Head of Masterbrand / Brand Expression

I was brought into Tesco to set up a creative in-house design team capable of delivering world leading, creative and innovative customer propositions and experiences. I lead the team in developing projects and concepts based on both customer and market insight. I am Involved with developing brand strategies and alignment across all channels from store, packaging, campaigns, online and POS to ensure a consistent approach to brand communication. I direct and align projects across the group form UK, ROI and CE. I manage budgets of circa £6m per annum, responsible for bringing in the right creative agencies, suppliers and consultants to support the development of the brand.  

JHP Design – Associate Director and Design Director

Design director and shareholder of this innovative and market leading design agency. Working with clients accross the globe from; luxury department stores, brands, airport masterplanning, shopping centre refurbishments to boutique beauty and fashion houses.
