I did a work placement at a motor manufacturing firm called NIDEC Control Techniques Ltd. at their Andover base after my first year at University. I got to oversee part of the production line and got a hands-on experience in stator assembly of the servomotor production process. I attended regular staff meetings, shadowed staff who were collaboratively working on developing new and improved servomotors (e.g. Ultra Low Voltage Servomotors) and worked with them on their research and ideation.
