After 32 years of continued employment, growth and experience at Sykes Marine Hydromaster / Hydromaster Propulsion BV (HPBV), my recent function was as Sales, warranty and aftersales manager in an ISO 9001:2015 accredited company, while also undertaking a variety of other managerial duties and responsibilities when required to do so.

The company having provided Marine Propulsion products to various global governments, military and private organisations, this occasionally allowed me to travel overseas to promote and sell varied propulsion solutions, as well as to undertake hands-on repairs, trouble-shoot and share product knowledge and experiences with a variety of clients, engineers & operators, at times in challenging conditions albeit in vibrant & exciting back-of-beyond parts of the world.

As a self-motivated, strategic-thinking, multi-tasking professional with over 3 decades of experience in a niche Marine Propulsion market, my goals are to become a valued asset in my next appointment, building on my previous experiences and therefore offering the best mature and professional service possible.

In April 2021, I completed a BS7671: 2018 18th Edition course with Total Electrical in Harlow, Essex, which included initial verification and inspection as well as Part P building regs. 

Starting in January 2022 with Able Skills in Dartford, Kent, I completed an Electrical course in May 2022, gaining my City and Guilds 2365 levels 2 and level 3 with diplomas.

I have a full driving licence, an IPAF licence and a UK Passport should my future appointment(s) require overseas travel or relocation.

In my spare time, my hobbies include Scuba diving in UK and overseas, some fishing (coarse & angling), clay shooting, DIY and gardening.

• Installing containment (trunking, basket, dado) 
• Pulling 1000s of meters of SWA for yard lamp-posts, EV charging points, Bollards etc and into the fabric of the building to the Dis Board(s) while reading ground ducting schematics
• Glanding SWA cables and 2nd fixing to Switched FCUs with flex outlets
• Running singles through trunking and conduit, making ready to wire into dis boards and sockets
• 1st and 2nd fixing lighting, sockets and switches
• 2nd fixing Lighting Control Modules

• Installing and wiring street lighting post-tops (lamp heads)

• Working closely with a number of other Electricians and communicating with other trades on-site
• Fitting containment onto Big-Foot supports on School roofs and in switch rooms (tray and trunking)
• Dismantling SP and TP mains switches, cabling and switch-boards
