Raksha Gurung

I am a retired Gurkha that had served in the British Army for 19 years. I’ve had gained many experiences and knowledge whilst I was in the army from driving, map reading, a paving professional, gardening to many more. The most challenging and rewarding part was when I was recruited to Afghanistan for 6 months away from my wife and children this was a war against the Taliban one of the most unforgettable moments in my life. I’ve always been very dedicated to both personal and professional development.

I am now a Lorry driver working for the LenhamCompany, I have driving class 1 that has been two months of my experience and Class 2 of 1-yearexperience. I also hold numerous licenses from CAT B, CAT D, C+, C+E. I am very active as I really enjoy keeping my self-busy. Where as during my spare time I love spending time with my family and doing my gym workout.

Every once a year I ensure I go to Nepal as I am a personal social worker, I’ve been helping children for 7 years to go to school in this village called Sidhing from their school stationary, equipment, computer and education fees. I believe that everyone has the potential when the right support is given and these children all have beautiful dreams and ambition. I’ve also opened up many Buddhist praying suite in Nepal, as I am a Buddhist and I believe if anything is worth doing, do it with all your heart.

I believe all these skills I have with me can be used as a bus driver because I really do enjoy challenging myself and trying out new things. I believe I have a very good communication skills, I am confident, always sharp on time and very good at managing or balancing my time in a well mannered way.
