Experience

As an accomplished ecologist, I possess a strong academic background, including an MSc in Environmental Consultancy from the University of Plymouth. My expertise lies in conducting ecological impact assessments, habitat surveys, and proficient report writing. I have successfully undertaken Phase I and Phase II surveys, showcasing my taxonomic identification skills and statistical analysis abilities for biodiversity assessments.

During my internship with Kovia Consulting, I gained valuable experience in environmental consultancy, specifically in desk-based research, QGIS, and data analysis. Moreover, my voluntary roles have allowed me to actively contribute to breeding bird surveys, emerging bat surveys, and protected species monitoring.

I have developed a comprehensive understanding of UK and EC wildlife legislation and policy, coupled with strong project management skills. My experience in providing ecological advice to stakeholders, including land managers, partners, and communities, has been vital in driving positive agricultural and environmental outcomes.

With a passion for championing nature and habitat restoration, I am well-equipped to support Dartmoor National Park Authority's ambitious nature recovery strategy through collaborative projects and ecological expertise. My adaptability, clear communication, and dedication make me a valuable addition to the Natural Environment team. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to make a positive impact on Dartmoor's biodiversity and contribute to the conservation of this cherished landscape.

Education

Throughout my educational journey, I have pursued a strong passion for ecology and conservation biology. I hold a First-class BSc degree in Conservation Biology, which provided me with a comprehensive understanding of terrestrial, marine, and freshwater environments, population dynamics, and ecosystem services. With a focus on GIS, SPSS, PCR, R studio, and taxonomy, I gained extensive experience in data analysis and scientific research methodologies.

Furthering my knowledge and skills, I completed an MSc in Environmental Consultancy, specializing in Ecological Impact Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment, and Contaminated Land Risk Assessments. This professional training equipped me with the expertise to conduct phase I habitat surveys, protected species surveys, and biodiversity assessments, while also mastering the art of professional report writing.

In addition to my academic achievements, I have actively engaged in field experiences in Mexico and Spain, enhancing my abilities in bat identification, biodiversity surveys, and tree identification. Furthermore, I dedicated time to voluntary work, participating in habitat restoration projects and wildlife conservation efforts with the Green Team at the University of Plymouth and Devon Wildlife Consultants.

Overall, my educational experiences have provided me with a solid foundation in ecology and environmental sciences, empowering me to contribute effectively to ecological surveys, research, and the development of sustainable conservation strategies.
