About Rodger Ryan:
I have a good working career history and have held various positions including; Door supervisors for pubs and clubs ; Stewarding at various events for football; film locations and the commonwealth games . I have held various security positions in an array of specialities from working in various shops including boots ; well’s pharmacies; smyth toys; Clinton cards; Aldi to name but a few. I also have experience in building site and warehouse distribution sites; car show rooms as the role of security officer. Another field I was involved in was gate house duties for distribution centres clocking in and out vehicles and doing night patrols. Whilst being employed in all of these roles I have used and developed skills including rota management; site management; shift allocations; mentorship for new starts; conflict resolution; good communication skills. I have also carried out security duties for visiting dignitaries both Army and for the Chinese embassy. I have also served with the TA RAMC for 11 years doing various duties including advance party to set up camps and In doing this I worked alongside regular service men and women. my duties within the TA also included stores management and audits for military stores where I assisted with ordering and unpacking new supplies. I also carried out duties which involved mentoring new recruits and assisted with basic fitness trainning and drill. I also have lifeskills in caring and advocacy due to being the sole carer for my mother who had cancer. Doing this my duties included advocating to get equipment essential for her to have a better quality of life; advocate for her when she her healthcare appointmen; support her in attending for chemotherapy treatment; cleaning; shopping and just being there so she felt safe. I am reliable and hard working person who enjoys new challenges in life; in particular my work environment. I would be willing to take up further training to advance my skills in all roles or gain experience offered for any new roles. I have skills and the ability to work either alone or as part of a team; can recognise when and if I need any help. I have good communication skills and many other transfereable skills from other roles I have held. I have also been involved in training individuals in the field of security for many years.I am a people person and can communicate in a manner and at a level needed for any situation. I can reflect on my work experience using systematic management and critical analysis to better myself. In all of my work history I have gained various skills I believe can be transferable for any job role. I am also open to any further education or training for new roles as the times change and new skills need to be adaptive to any role
Experience
customer service security officer for shops and pharmacies involved in customer safety; communications via radio coms to shops and other security officers on site to maintain site safety. crisis interventions and deescalation for customers who becom verball and physically hoostile towards staff and other memebers of the public and act according to remove them from the premises. To keep the public interactions with staff safe; security checks on store floor and locking up at night. To be present at night when shop refurishments are being done so as workers are safe and following strict health and safety procedures and to do spot checks as workers finish shifts.rota management to make sure shifts are fully covered; training new staff on their induction and during probationary periods.
Events planning and co-ordination at football matches; concerts; film sets working in collaboration with other security company and emergency services so as all events run safetly and effectively.
