Ruggero Platania

With my BSc in Psychology and my MSc in Cognitive and Neuroscience, with my experiences in challenging behaviors and with learning disabilities and mental disorders (ADHD, OCD, ASD, etc.) with my support work role, my Graduate scheme where I shadowed Positive Behavior Support practitioner and as a PROACT-Scipr instructor where I could learn more about proactive strategies Person Centred-planning, therapeutical environments and several areas related to the management and prevention of behaviors of concerns, I am interested in Psychology and anything related to Mental Health that could increase my career path and experience and learning of this subject

My practical experience with people with mental health problems and substance use problems (such as alcohol misuse problems) starts in 2018 when I started working as a Support worker where my duty was to help and support service users with learning disabilities, mental illness, and additional complex needs, to live the life they want as much as possible within the service and in the community. 

 

With my Master in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience I improved my knowledge and competence in neuroscience and neuropsychology. The MSc was a experienced academic pathway in those fields, having the possibility to apply my academic skills while working. It gave me the possibility to learn more about scientific papers, statistic research and analysis and get more familiar with the academic world.
