Experience

Administration, 05/2017 – Current

Webhelp - Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Starting from a foundational role in a contact centre, I began by taking calls, where I developed essential communication skills and learned to navigate various customer interactions. I progressed within the organisation through dedication and hard work, taking on additional responsibilities and roles. Transitioning into administrative assistance, I further honed my organisational abilities, managing data and ensuring efficient operations behind the scenes.

As my journey continued, I evolved into a Subject Matter Expert (SME), where I provided valuable support to management and colleagues alike. In this role, I took charge of projects, leveraging my expertise and problem-solving skills to drive initiatives successfully. Whether assisting with complex customer issues or spearheading organisational projects, I demonstrated a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to excellence.

My progression within the contact centre showcased my ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic environments, underscoring my dedication to personal and professional growth. Each step of the way, I embraced new challenges and opportunities, ultimately contributing to the overall success of the team and organisation.

Placement, 01/2023 – 03/2023

Rethink Mental Illness Crisis House – Sheffield

During my second year of studying Psychology, I embraced an invaluable opportunity to embark on a placement at ReThink Sheffield Crisis House. This pivotal experience significantly shaped my career trajectory. Immersed in the dynamic mental health crisis intervention environment, I gained first-hand insight into the complexities of working in this sector.

My role at Crisis House was multifaceted, involving the provision of therapeutic recovery in a nurturing environment for individuals experiencing mental health crises. From offering intensive emotional support to facilitating practical assistance, I aimed to equip service users with coping strategies to navigate their current challenges and prevent future crises. In addition to engaging in direct support, my responsibilities encompassed administrative tasks such as helpline management, admission and discharge paperwork, and liaising with mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Throughout my placement, I honed my communication skills by effectively liaising with stakeholders and actively listening to the needs of service users. Cultivating empathy and a non-judgmental approach was paramount in fostering an environment of trust and openness. This experience instilled in me a deep sense of compassion and drive to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Drawing from my academic background in Psychology, I leveraged theoretical knowledge to develop tailored support plans and conduct risk assessments with precision and critical thinking. My ability to adapt, persevere through challenges, and collaborate seamlessly within a team further underscores my commitment to excel in the mental health field.

My time at Crisis House solidified my passion for mental health advocacy and reinforced my determination to contribute positively to this vital sector.
