Hi, I have 19 years of experience working in care from elderly, dementia, mental health, learning disabilities to autism. I have just recently completed 4 years at Teesside university BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (child) (pre-registration).

I am passionate about children and young people and to make that small difference in their life and their families. I have completed numerous child placement in my time at university and feel I have transferable skills from my previous experience.

Health and social care experience

2022-current NHSP (HCA)

Responsibilities

I Provided support to nursing staff on numerous wards by carrying out clinical tasks such as observations to monitor a patient which include temperature, blood pressure, blood glucose levels which detect if a patient is deteriorating by following NHS guidelines on the NEWS or PEWS. Completing patient records such as food and fluid charts. Supporting and encouraging patients to undertake activities of daily living whilst delivering compassion, dignity and human rights to deliver high quality of care.

2019-2020 Priory Group (HCA)

Responsibilities

On this ward I supported a diverse group of service users with varying degrees of mental health and physical issues, I supported service users with personal care, psychological needs, social needs one to one observation, motivation.

2016-2017 Care UK (senior care assistant)

Responsibilities

Ensure administration of medication, ordering or medication, ensuring care plans are up to date regular, communicate with other multi-disciplinary teams, kept families up to date with their loved one’s care, staff management. Support service users with personal hygiene needs promoting person centred care the clients are given choice of how they would like to receive their care. Meeting targets given by my management, always remaining professional under good and bad circumstances working under pressure, dealing with complaints, and ensuring policy and procedures are followed under CQC regulations.

2017-2019, Care UK (unit manager/night manager)

Responsibilities

Leading a team ensuring units are CQC met, staff rot to ensure the service users’ needs are met. liaised well with families informing them of any changes with their loved ones and general updates if they were concerned and provided support where required. Safeguarding of patients, DOLs applications, medication management, support to staff, supervisions, medication administration. Care plan updates, new patient paperwork, MDT meeting, person centred care highlighted in individuals care, staff training.

June 2017-April 2019, Care UK (care assistant)

Responsibilities

I provided and supported residents with residential and dementia needs, assist with personal care needs in a person-centred way, support with toilet needs as needed, ensure respect dignity and choice are followed and encouraged, Encourage residents to remain as independent as possible,  promote mental health and wellbeing, support and assistance with their choices and hobbies such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation, Provide mobility assistance to residents where necessary through the safe use of manual handling devices or equipment.

To maintain accurate, concise, up-to-date, and timely records of residents in their care plan support with diet and nutritional needs of residents, Provided a good relationship with residents and their families.

2014-2015 Care visions (HCA)

Responsibilities

Within this role I assisted different client groups in their own home to promote independence and achieve daily living skills. I worked with many different client groups, families, and organisations. Ranging from a variety of ages from very young babies to the elderly with a variety of needs. Assisting with personal care needs, medication, social outings one to one basis, assistance with shopping, cooking cleaning. At times patients may just require some time with another person if they feel unsafe or lonely.

Responsibilities

made outbound phone calls which customers were provided off a computer database system, promoting and selling solar energy.  Targets were set each day which I was requires to meet.  This required working under pressure to meet the targets set.  

Completion of paediatric Nursing at Teesside University with a strong commitment to clinical nursing and health. Highly relevant knowledge and skills developed through academic and placement experience through university. Transferable skills also gained through healthcare experience of 19 years.
