About Sam Keeling-Dodd:
I am a qualified integrative counsellor offering a confidential, friendly, and safe environment for people to discuss their personal issues which are troubling them. I am currently Self-Employed and use different approaches tailored in meeting personal needs, offering a non-judgmental, ethical approach. I am passionate in helping people to become more self-aware to promote self-growth, working towards achieving their personal goals. I work with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and bereavement, low self- esteem and more, offering different therapy approaches such as Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and more, depending on individual needs.
Experience
I have successfully completed 3 years study with chrysalis, completing my Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Level 6). I am an Accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS), working in accordance with the BACP and the Code of Ethics. I am currently a registered member and abide by the core principles.
I have developed good listening and communication skills since studying to be a counsellor and through my voluntary work at Maundy Relief counselling service in Accrington. During my time studying with Chrysalis I learnt a lot about myself and other people and I want to carry on bringing out the best in me and making positive changes to people’s lives. I am always looking to gain as much experience and knowledge as I can to enable me to enhance my counselling skills and reach my full potential as a fully trained counsellor. I am keen to obtain new skills and training and have existing ones to offer.
I am currently Self-employed, taking on work for Simply Therapy Counselling and Psychotherapy Services working with clients suffering from trauma. I am currently doing mostly telephone counselling but can work face to face as well, virtualy if required. I have also worked with interpretors when there are language barriers for clients. I have been working with clients who have been involved in traumatic accidents/incidents for nearly 3 years since graduating with my level 6.
