Sam Rees

I have worked for both short and extended projects in an international and multicultural context. I have a strong grasp and plentiful experience in managing the project process, including in leadership, planning, organisation, budgeting, and research. I am extremely comfortable with working independently, cooperatively and to strict deadlines. I am both creative and logical, with very strong problem-solving abilities. My work ethic is disciplined, and I always seek to foster strong, positive, and friendly working partnerships. I am well adapted to travel, working in high-pressure environments and time sensitive work

I have approximately 5 years experience working within international and UK nature conservation initiatives, businesses and projects. I have completed projects in 4 countries and am looking to develop many more. I currently work as an ecological consultant, advising on UK based nature conservation and mitigation within development, while simultaneously developing international projects to support indigenous communities. Currently my international work focuses on Cameroon. 

I compelted my MSc in Ethnobotany from the University of Kent in 2023. I also hold a BSc in Environmental Sciences from Avans University in the Netherlands. I am currently completing training to become and IUCN conservation assessor, as well as holding various other certificates in short courses related to environmental conservation.
