Sammiah Saleem

I am currently studying an access course in nursing and midwifery, I have worked in the healthcare sector for ten years working in various roles as a mental health support worker, carer, youth worker, a personal assistant to a Doctor and a carer for my mother. I enjoy helping others, I am a caring, sympathetic, adaptable, good listener and problem solver.  I would like to work in a hospital setting and develop on my skills further.

I have years of experience working as a mental health support worker, managing challenging behaviours using safe restraints  techniques such as MAPA, PMVA, Maybo de-escalation and supporting clients 1:1. I have also worked as a carer and a personal assistant to a Dr,  i am trained in medication administration, manual handling, first aid, and moving and handling.   I have also worked with teenagers as a youth worker, promoting independant living skills. 

I am currently studying an access course for nursing and midwifery at Bradford College
