                        Role: Finance, Procurement & Contract Officer

In this role, I handled post award Procure to Pay of IT services for Shared Services between London Boroughs of Brent, Lewisham, Southwark and Local Government Association. I was also the first line contact for Supplier relationship management for more than 50 suppliers including BT, Xerox, Vodafone, Virgin Media, Bytes Software, Insight Direct UK Ltd, Dell and XMA. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Procure to Pay of post award services and equipment for major contracts for shared services between London Borough of Brent, Lewisham and Southwark
  • IT Contracts and Service Delivery Management to ensure the Councils gets value for money
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Reconciliation of supplier account statements
  • Data analysis, presentation and interpretation of costs of services and equipment for budgeting and budget monitoring to budget  holders
  • Negotiating and Influencing suppliers to ensure value for money service delivery
  • Handing disputes whenever there was a breach of contract
  • Handling complaints from suppliers and customer
  • Participated in budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis
  • Provided information for decision making to senior management
  • Office relocation: was responsible for purchase large volume capital equipment  (including laptops, mobile telephones, monitors for the entire Brent council) -2013
  • Implementation of Integrated telephone system and replacement the PBX telephone system contracted to Vodafone– ensuring accuracy of billing and purchases of mobile phone-2012
  • Resolved billing enquiries from customers and suppliers 

Key achievements.

  • Through critical analysis of service deliveries and bills, I saved the Council thousands of Pounds in procurement each year. For instance, in 2018/2019 financial year, I save the council 65k on a single transaction related to overpricing of IPhones.
  • Negated and reached a settlement of 300k with a supplier for poor service delivery and overcharges with a telecom service provider in 2016
  • Managed a 5 million “OnePrint -Follow me Printing” contract with Xerox for 5 years and executed termination of over 50 printing equipment leases from different suppliers
  • Managed complex IT Services and supplies for telecommunication, hardware and software with large suppliers. Namely: Vodafone Ltd-Voice & Data, Virgin Media Ltd-Data Circuits, Bytes (UK)- Software, Xerox- Printing, XMA-Hardware, Insight (UK) Ltd-Hardware, BT-Telecom, Dell-Hardware,  Specialist Computer Centre-Hardware, Computer Centre-Hardware; Posturite-Accessibility Hardware, just to mention but a few.
  • Consolidated multiple telephony (voice and broadband) contracts across Brent Council into single contracts with BT for voice and KCOM for Broadband services-2010 -2015
  • Executed a smooth migration and terminati0n data circuits from Virgin and migration to Vodafone-2018-2020

2007 – 2011    London Borough of Brent, London

                       Role: Finance and Information Officer

This role involved procurement to pay of IT Services the whole of London Borough of Brent and cost transfers to over 500 cost centres. Contract and Supplier management as well customer services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participated in budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis
  • Provided first line contract and supplier management for IT services and contracts Responsible for Procurement to Pay of IT services for London Borough of Brent.
  • Responsible for cost transfer from IT department to various Business department in Brent Council
  • Provided regular reports, statistical data analyses and presentation of various performances measures including the telephone answering across the Council
  • Contributed to working groups and the formulation of policies and procedures for service
  • Handled resolution of technical and complex financial reconciliation.

Key achievements/projects:

Managed and successfully delivered the project for improving and automating the processes for providing Telecommunication and Remote Access services within 2 months.
